Graham Brady says 48 letters has not been reached, if it hasn't by now, then I don't see it happening, it looks like her Brexit is the Brexit.

How can she be allowed to get away with such a thing?

It'll get voted down in Parliament, at least.

Brexiteer or remainers, it’s difficult to argue against the idea that getting out of the EU is like getting an egg out of a baked cake.
Surely the only reason she is still pm is because it’s a poisoned chalice.
The louder labour shout the less they actually want a GE and whatever the tories do will be messy.
Seeing her interview on sky as someone pointed out she was trying to outvague labour on their position.
Traitor is a moot point, effing hopeless less so.

Everything they should have done so far was to plan for “no deal”.
Brinkmanship is the only way.

"Them" - and I don't mean Van Morrison.

“They are all in cahoots”

Do you mean the Conservative party?

I didn’t think they were that united.

Her so-called "Brexit team" and the EU they're supposed to be negotiating with.  It's a complete feckin' shambles … or a very cunning plan, Shirlee?

Possibly.  I mean Raab and not realising about Dover?  C'mon!  Anyway, Davis got well run over didn't he - seemingly at least.

An inner circle of complete and utter coonts?  Who knows but it's not right.

It’s deffo not right.
I think perhaps Raab’s Dover comment was a little out of context but ho hum.
Davis seems to too sensible to get wrapped up in the Kafkaesque shenanigans that are happening.

Who knows what will happen this week?

Predictions?

The important thing is to get it over the line then we can modify it later. What is entirely unacceptable is to enter a deal where we can't get out of it even if we want to, May is a lunatic if she thinks that will get support.

Wouldn't be surprised if she's in cahoots with the EU.
Not letting the new Brexit Minister get involved in the negotiations is suspect as well.
Get her out and a staunch leaver elected with a better deal or no deal ultimatum to the EU.

The idea that the EU can stop brexit by making sure the deal wouldn't be accepted was so obviously an eu bast*rd strategy we warned about 2 years ago, yet here we are.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/11/18/tory-mps-lie-submitting-no-confidence-letters-says-sir-graham/
.
Sir Graham Brady suggested his colleagues should not try to oust Theresa May because doing so could undermine Brexit negotiations as he revealed some Tory MPs had lied about submitting no confidence letters.

The chairman of the 1922 Committee of backbench Conservative MPs confirmed on Sunday the threshold for a ballot on the Prime Minister’s leadership had not yet been crossed.

He said he personally believed a ballot would not be “helpful” as he refused to be drawn on how close to the magic number of 48 letters he was and insisted he was the only person who knew, with even his wife being kept in the dark.

Meanwhile, Mrs May said she was in regular contact with Sir Graham as she urged Tory MPs...

sounds to me like Brady may not tell anyone if the 48 number is reachedLaugh

after days of people dancing on the head of a pin, spouting everything but saying nothing, some bloke on sky head of some free trade organisation told it how it was and endorsed what many of us on here said back in December

mrs may wants to cross a bridge to get to some sunny upland that the EU may or may not give us, but the EU are on this side of the bridge perfectly happy with the legally binding agreement may is willing to sign, why on earth would the EU agree a future trade deal that made us better off and consequently them worse off ,when their happy with what they,ve got

remember back in December when mrs may signed up to the back stop and said don't worry it wont come into force because we,ll have something better in place, but a year later she,s willing to sign up to something worse

Even if the 48's reached, I don't see her losing a confidence vote, and I don't see her standing down of her own accord if the number of votes against her were "significant", even if not enough to dethrone her. She'd then be on easy street in comparison to the last few weeks and months.

At this moment in time, if I wanted a no-deal and/or simply wanted to oust the PM, I'd want the 48th letter to land the evening of her losing the vote in parliament.

There is also the point that the number of letters sent may not directly correlate with the amount of MPs who would like to see her gone - it's often the case, especially with the Tories, that people would prefer to stab her in the back than the front.

She may wish to kill the Tory Party, which her deal will assuredly do, but whether the Tory Party wants to be killed remains to be seen.

but it must mean at least 48 are voting the deaL down ,plus 10 dup,s so she,s starting at least 58 votes down plus those who,ve resigned over the deal, all this talk of getting it through on 2nd,3rd vote etc surely she,s gone after the 1st vote and what happens next wont be up to her

If she wins a no confidence vote its done and finished

The chance to get rid has gone imo, the amount of s*** she's done and is still standing is absolutely baffling to me

she's out there now trying to get big corps on board?

I mean isn't this supposed to be a public thing? why is she running round trying to get big businesses to back it?

The public have been done every which way and its absolutely disgraceful imo
