Which is now Black .. Week and a bit!

I've already broken the seal. And it's not even crap, it's something I buy anyway that was a pleasant 1/2 price.

It might get addictive, and I'm sure they know it, as Amazon keeps having these "lightning deals" every day. For suckers like me.

Tried getting the price down on a driver, at american golf, no chance, prices held artificially high.
Very difficult company to deal with. imo

You've got to laugh at the plebs who think they're getting a bargain. All the shops do is put the prices up by say 25% 2 weeks before...home base are notorious for it, come bank holiday or Black Friday, they offer x% off bringing it back down to the original price.

"You've got to laugh at the plebs who think they're getting a bargain."
Because it's SO hard to type in the product into the inturnetz and see what it's getting sold for elsewhere before deciding if it's a good deal or not, we plebs could never think of doing that...

Tell you what I had the radio on yesterday, the assault of "Black Friday" adds were doing my head in. I don't think I'll bother today in case I snap and the thing goes out the window.

Loads of companies now have "Black November".

It's getting out of hand. And as soon as it finishes it'll be a sea of christmas adverts.

I'd say we should ban christmas to stop it but we don't even HAVE thanksgiving here (or anywhere in the world apart from Yankland) but we're devoting an entire ****ing MONTH to a consumer spending frenzy themed on it!!LaughCrazyWink

I've bought : Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe

With luck I will be able to seek refuge from Black Friday whilst emersing myself in Defoe's imagined world !

There are some real bargains you just have to be careful.

Amazon are sneaky as the seem to do "% reduction" versus the RRP not the commonly sold price if you google it. OR there can be one item reduced from one seller and it's same price or cheaper than one NOT reduced by another! But in the ocean of deals the are some bargains. I'm waiting until tommorow to see if there is anything on my list of things I want reduced.

I'll be keeping an eye out for cheap good drills for the forum :P

Not sure there will be many cheap deals on those sort of laptops?

Does it have to be a laptop, for gaming always thought desktops were where it was at?

There's a list here if you scroll down.
https://www.techradar.com/uk/black-friday/black-friday-laptop-deals-how-to-get-the-best-model-for-the-best-price

I'm surprised by how powerful the graphics cards are but I suppose with smaller scale chips it's easier to get them in without overheating.

I've always been a laptop fanatic JC

Its easier to move around the house with a laptop, plus the gaming side is more for football manager, plus some video editing that's all

Not the same. In fact more I look at it the ebuyer one (and its not currys!) seems a bit of a beast:
https://www.ebuyer.com/862353-msi-gp62m-7rd-leopard-gaming-laptop-9s7-16j972-425

I'ts i7 so without checking actual processor it's faster than i5, it's 16gb (!).

It's good to see they are splitting the disks up to SSD and normal HD, that's the way to do it.

Put OS and commonly used software on SSD and data on the HD.

Looking for a laptop myself, one capable of running the Proform database without it taking ages to load and run systems, which is the case with mine now. Was looking at this as it had £50 off but now saying out of stock Sad

https://www.ebuyer.com/805723-hp-250-g6-i7-laptop-2sy44es-2sy44es-abu?mkwid=s_dc&pcrid=51467863979&pkw=&pmt=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItIrol87C3QIV7r_tCh2zoQO0EAQYASABEgKxQfD_BwE

I've had a little win so can afford it, but will probably put it through my business anyway. What puts me off getting a new laptop most is transferring everything over from my existing laptop Sad Has anyone had any experince of this, & how easy or hard it it to do? TIA

Trangferring DATA is a piece of p1ss, unless you've it litered all over the place, in fact if it's important data you should be backing it up anyway.

The pain in the arse is installing everything you need and setting it up way you want.

But a new machine always has that "fast boot new car smell"..

Number of ways to copy data, if you don't have backups easiest way is to put both on same network and share whatever folders it is in and just copy it.

Or copy to say a usb drive and then just whack it in.

McCoy you want to let Simon from Proform look at the Proform installation, I had systems that took minutes to load and after he fiddled around a bit they took seconds to load.

Thanks trebor. I have emailed him about it. Pretty sure what I'm using can't cope. What he recommended is well below the spec of what I'm currently using. I should treat myself really, got a bit lucky with a two of the systems I use which threw up a couple of freak winners.

Yes eyed up Xmas Presents last week...Amazon were already cheaper than any other outlets I could find for the items...they dipped throughout the week approx 20-25% cheaper today than last week and remember they were already cheaper than anywhere else.

I am a convert...sod the bloody high street the amount of times i've been ripped off (before the days of reviews) and bought rubbish at silly prices...a bit like when CD's when down the sh!tter, I ain't crying.

Saw some deals for BT sport for new customers - although I am an existing customer.   No options or offers available on my account, so tried phoning up told them 'my mate' had got it for £3 a month.

Got offered £6 a month which will do nicely.
