Seems a good enough drill to my limited eye? Dewalt are respected brand, combi, 13mm, good torque?
I wouldn't buy anything like that this close to black friday though, would not be surprised at all if you get things like that cheap, maybe amazon but I'm sure other place will have deals. I'd probably narrow it down to a few choices and come the day check for what comes up. One point is to some extent consider buying into a system. Any other tools you also want? Once you've compatible charger and batteries you might just buy the body of e.g. a sander or light sabre or something that also take them, body alone can be surprisingly cheap. |

depends if you have large projects in mind. I have a combi but I've done a fair bit of diy building lately and the loan of an impact driver has proved hugely time saving.

You can get deals with an impact driver / combi drill in same pack. I don't think I'd do enough screwing to ever need a separate impact driver.
OOOhh eeerrrrrr! My lack of screwing exposed to the netz! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (Impact driver is basically a super screwdriver, despite fact it sounds like a sort of hammer drill!). |

Ive got several Cordless drills and they are all good ....until they arnt.
I have almost a full collection of Festool equipment as Im mad keen on faffing around and its all really expensive gear, but the drills are toys and ok for banal work but the drill I always end up turning to is the Dewalt DCD985 which has a torque of around 80NM. Its about twice the price of that Dewalt shown, but you wont come up short with it. Theres nothing better than when something resists a weak drill and its slipping gears only to grab the stronger Dewalt to make things behave. You will (go in, come out, screw, unscrew, drill masonry etc) I think theres another one with a 5AH battery as apposed to my 4AH which will probably be even better but you are into 300s. |

Cant go wrong with a bosch, used them for many years, Dewalt are a bit overpriced for what they are.

Amazon has that bosch one for 80. I'm sure it's good but is 10mm chuck, of course most people won't need the big chuck anyway.

Robert dyas!!... who'd think i am??... Rockefeller??.... £30 cheaper at amazon.
Cant see the max Torque of this item.. think we all know thats very important... ![]() ![]() |

A lot of places will list the depths it can deal with of different materials. I doubt many people need 80!!
The cheapo ones are well below 40ish which is the sort of entry level "good". |

My Makita is on its last legs but had it for 6 or 7 years. Only cost £99. Emitdeb if you do get a drill from screwfix 1. Do they have their own brand ? 2. Whatever you choose and you buy from them, make sure you keep the receipt. There one of the best for no questions asked exchanges on faulty items as long as there in warranty.

I've been looking for a while but what I REALLY want is a drill that goes up to 11, for when you just need that little bit more.

TBH, loved my old Bosch even bought him a new battery few years back. But he's not brushless
he hasnt got a light to see where im drilling and he aint got 3 little lights to indicate battery life. so he's relegated to pilot holes from Christmas on wards.. Bit sad, gonna miss him but nothing lasts forever. |

I've never had a problem with Bosch for heavy work.

TBH I don't really care about the little LED "illuminator" things that seems trendy now. Little LED torches are dirt cheap now anyway, just use some duck tape :)
I hope that sheds some light on things. |

My last drill I had two major issues, firstly it stopped accepting different bits .. then I couldn't even get rid of it as it had sentimental value.
Real issues chucking it. |
