tictac is right about lidl   i have been in aldi too - the better ones have quite a good range of dried fruit/nuts etc

I buy 200g bags of mixed nuts from Lidl.  Unlike other shops which fill them with 50% peanuts you get 25% Walnuts Hazelnut, Almond and Cashew. Recommend.

If you are anywhere near a wholesale fruit and veg market go there.Californian walnuts come in 25kg sacks,just the right size for any serious walnut consumer.

Buying the small containers of dried herbs and spice from the supermarket is stupid!

Most recent purchase is a 400g jar of dried wild mushrooms (if 400g doesn't sound much, it's a similar size to a jar of sweets in a shop)!

Cost, about 30% of small supermarket packs.....
