If they light a cotton bud and wafted it around your ears (to get rid of the hair) thier Turkish,

Same around here, loads of them now.

Tbf to them they do a great job. Open razor blade to do the edges and that's just the hair cuts.
They do the full shaves as well. Top notch

Went to a turkish barber  a few weeks ago....took a age to trim, never spoke, and set me ear alight..£12 plus tip.....I am out

These Turkish barbers - do they offer fist bumps ?

A few around here, too. Kurdish I think.

My regular barber (Greek) was ill so went to a Kurdish looking one - he did not engage thus nationality unknown. Anyway, he said I could go despite not brushing off the loose cut hairs on my shoulders and shirt. I said "what about these (loose hairs)?" Reluctantly, he brushed them off.

And I've never returned since.

It’s very annoying when they don’t sweep away the previous cutting before inviting you into the chair.

Round here one opened shop next but one to a long established barber.  Like declaring war.

Best hair cut I've had in the Turkish barbers, very clean and friendly place.

Find it the same with the Polish car wash places. The truth is they work harder and do a better job than
most of the old local places that have had it too easy for too long. All the new competition can only be good
for the customer.

Totally agree with car washes. They are superb, and they even clean the inside of the door frames too; much better than those in petrol pumps which do not clean the wheel hubs well and possibly risking a scratch of the paintwork.

Do they get set up grants? presumably the Kurds are asylum seekers but how do so many Turks
get here? are they migrants from Germany?

A few around here too.  Wouldn't use them.  I have nice English chap who cuts my hair.

When I asked a Turkish barber about that, he said he couldn't do it as he had been quoted 5k for insurance to do it
