All over the place round here now.

1.  Are they Turkish?
2.  Should I ditch the nice lady that trims my hair and eyebrows for £10?
3.  Isn't it all a bit gay, or should I be a learn to be a bit more metrosexual?

Need to get some lopped off tomorrow so answers asap please.

If they light a cotton bud and wafted it around your ears (to get rid of the hair) thier Turkish,
Report jamesdean November 15, 2018 3:09 PM GMT
Same around here, loads of them now.

Tbf to them they do a great job. Open razor blade to do the edges and that's just the hair cuts.
They do the full shaves as well. Top notch

A Moslem...with an open razor on the high st?  Do the the Chit Chat Massive know about this?

It's not the razors that proved to be the problem in the one in Yeovil:

there are certain service industries that seem connected with this sort of behaviour

Didn't take long for a standard chit chat thread to turn into the usual racist sh1te.
Embarrassing

These Turkish barbers - do they offer fist bumps ?Laugh
Report RacingCert November 15, 2018 4:27 PM GMT
A few around here, too. Kurdish I think.
Report impossible123 November 15, 2018 4:28 PM GMT
My regular barber (Greek) was ill so went to a Kurdish looking one - he did not engage thus nationality unknown. Anyway, he said I could go despite not brushing off the loose cut hairs on my shoulders and shirt. I said "what about these (loose hairs)?" Reluctantly, he brushed them off.

And I've never returned since.

It’s very annoying when they don’t sweep away the previous cutting before inviting you into the chair.
Report TheBaron November 15, 2018 4:39 PM GMT
Round here one opened shop next but one to a long established barber.  Like declaring war.
Report jamesdean November 15, 2018 4:41 PM GMT
Best hair cut I've had in the Turkish barbers, very clean and friendly place.

Find it the same with the Polish car wash places. The truth is they work harder and do a better job than
most of the old local places that have had it too easy for too long. All the new competition can only be good
for the customer.
Report Johnny_Mustang November 15, 2018 4:56 PM GMT
You get your hair cut at Polish car washes?

They're all crawling out the chitchat woodwork now!
Report moisok November 15, 2018 5:23 PM GMT
that is the problem with the open doors policy

it allows jd out!!!Whoops
Report impossible123 November 15, 2018 5:24 PM GMT
Totally agree with car washes. They are superb, and they even clean the inside of the door frames too; much better than those in petrol pumps which do not clean the wheel hubs well and possibly risking a scratch of the paintwork.

Do they get set up grants? presumably the Kurds are asylum seekers but how do so many Turks
get here? are they migrants from Germany?
Report lybertyne November 15, 2018 5:27 PM GMT
A few around here too.  Wouldn't use them.  I have nice English chap who cuts my hair.

When I asked a Turkish barber about that, he said he couldn't do it as he had been quoted 5k for insurance to do it
