Injera - no probs, alas I never had a pair of AB's white boots.
I am reminded though of this fantastic game from 1973, where he inspired Arsenal to a famous victory at Anfield.

The woman is the complete opposite of "beyond reproach"; her appeal was rejected, and she was told there was no basis for her appeal. On the plus side, she represented herself...probably the last time she could do so as a solicitor!
A recall-petition process has been initiated by John Bercow the Speaker Of the House Of Commons; she's going, and soon...........gone, gone, gone for good. And good riddance too!

In fairness Cap'n that Anfield pitch wasn't half as tricky as some of the middens Clough and Taylor used to serve up at the Baseball Ground and the City Ground.

Perhaps the Con Party could oppose her with Mr Werritty in the by-election. I'm sure he would appeal to the demographic of Peterborough. Now that he is no longer "the formerly disgraced Secretary of State for Defence" i'm sure that Dr Liam wouldn't mind knocking on a few doors for him in exchange for "favours".
Obviously Dr Liam could claim mileage and then rent Adam a flat in the area if he was successful - but the good doctor is probably too busy finalising trade deals with Easter Island or Ascension Island. Being such a selfless individual maybe he is too busy plotting for his third failed attempt at the leadership.

If lying was an offence they would all be in the scrubs - you are correct that she is convicted though so it makes a mockery of the term "Right Honourable". It's a shame the standards are so low and the rules so lax that both sides of both houses have a growing smattering of people (that if they worked in other "professions") should be doing a stint at HM pleasure.

A Recall Petition to remove MP for Peterborough Fiona Onasanya from her role opens tomorrow
If 10 per cent of her constituents (6,967 people) sign the petition within a six week period then she will lose her seat and a by-election will be triggered.
It will cost approximately £500,000 to run, but the costs are met fully by the Government.

I don't get it, if she's bang to rights, caught lying, breaking the law, trying to frame someone else, how could she possibly be back as an MP in the commons, nothing she ever said would carry weight, she would never be able to accuse anyone of lying, telling mistruths or being untrustworthy - which are all prerequisites as a member of parliament, what is the point, she is damaged goods and should go quietly for the sake of Labour. She must be competely delusional to think her career is not over.

You don't follow politics then? It works like this: Get caught (lying, lining own pockets, giving friends/family a leg up, abusing position, stealing, cheating, being a perv) Deny it strenuously - and threaten your accusers with libel/slander Tell lies - until the evidence becomes too damning and is completely irrefutable Reluctantly admit it - but don't apologise and still refuse to resign - hope it goes away Eventually resign (but only for the good of the party) - but don't apologise Bide your time (doesn't need to be long - people have short memories) Return to front bench/cabinet (maybe even run for the leadership) Behave with a sense of entitlement, self-importance and arrogance to cover for being exposed as a lying, cheating, self serving piece of scum.
Repeat as required.

It would seem that she may have been innocent all along https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6822079/Criminal-MP-Fiona-Onasanya-BEGS-voters-not-throw-77-000-job-new-social-media-video.html?fbclid=IwAR0q57fa9dMb9

I could not bring myself to watch the video pleading her innocence. But, one question to those who watched: Did she ever mention about the statement given by her then manager of communication to the Prosecution that she was in the area on the day in question for political business with him? And, possibly her brother Festus who did not back up her story that she was not the driver either?
Pleading one's innocence is one thing, proving it is a totally different proposition; a string of coincidences cannot be just that...in all probability. She's no credibility left, and her behaviour since prison not endearing to anyone either.

Never explained anything. Just axed people what would they do if they were found guilty of something they never did, and boasted about her parliamentary work.

The tnuc had the temerity to vote in yesterday's debate....anyone know how the petition to deselect her is progressing or is Corbyn hoping it'll all blow over and he can then promote her to the front bench as shadow prisons minister.

Who's the MP who sits to the right of Corbyn in the House Of Commons? I've never seen her speak (not even on Brexit), and I watched PMQ quite regularly.

I've just gathered some info thro' 'google' about Dawn Buttler? She was the Shadow Minister for Diverse Communities, and now Women and Equalities. Dawn Buttler (because of her silence) seemed to have been missed by me.
I'm looking forward to her "maiden" speech at the Despatch Box soon.

'posy', that seems to be the common occurrence and sad thing about PC on this platform: There's usually someone who seems fit to use a "comparable" to one's posts (when there's none) to (try to) insinuate an ulterior motive eg the scumbag who invented fictitious receipts for his expenses fraud. Of course, he ought to have been kicked-out by the Conservative Party without a shadow of a doubt.
Scumbag in high office abusing privileges and rank? Exterminate immediately, and prosecute I'd say; his days as an MP ending very soon, I sincerely hope. There must be no place for scumbags like him in the corridors on power, period.

I think Angela Rayner is the least intelligent member of Labour's Shadow Cabinet. It's Corbyn policy to have a cabinet that represent the people rather than one that can do the job.

In business the boss usually picks a deputy less able than them for obvious reason, unless one is Sir Terry Leahy (Tesco) or Justin King (Sainsbury). And, Politics is no different eg Labour led by a Marxist like Mr Corbyn; picked an unknown front bencher that sat next to him (and on tv/pmq) but not spoke in any Brexit business; appointed Ms Onasanya (1st sitting MP to be jailed) as a Labour Whip.
PC before competency and talent, the assured formula or ingredient to future failure.

The story of how the disgraced and convicted criminal Onasanya (complete with electronic tag), was able to make a decisive vote in Parliament to sabotage Brexit, is a tale that will one day be taught in schools.
Wherever you look for a scintilla of good judgement (or even basic common sense) in this tawdry story, you won't find it.
From the TWO trials, to the inexplicable short sentence, to the ludicrous premature release, to the continued representation in Parliament, to making the key vote on the issue of our age, you would be hard pressed to find an example of a country and nation more hell-bent on self-destruction.
The rest of the world is laughing Britain. How we have fallen.

She's been expelled by the Labour Party, and that's worse than deselection I believe.
Is her brother still enjoying the pleasure of HMP? Let's hope so as I think he'd 2 similar but unproven (then) offences prior. Also, I firmly believe Onasanya would never have become an MP but for political correctness gone bonkers in the Labour Party eg lacking the necessary experience.

Just 7 days left (1st May), and she'll be a history at the House Of Commons as the result of the recall petition at her constituency in Peterborough is due; her tenure as their MP ceases.

I think it's 1.00000000000001 she'll be gone; she's detestable and narcissistic and have yet to understand the gravitas of her actions. Even the Appeal Judge told her she'd no ground for an appeal. That's how detached from the real world she's after a short stink in the House Of Commons and Privileges.

Pension arrangements[edit] MPs will normally receive a pension of either 1/40th or 1/50th of their final pensionable salary for each year of pensionable service depending on the contribution rate they will have chosen. Members who made contributions of 13.75% of their salary gain an accrual rate of 1/40th.[22] According to a 2009 report in the Daily Mail, state contributions for MPs are more than four times higher than the average paid out by companies for final-salary schemes, but they are not significantly more generous than most public-sector pensions.[23] If an MP stands down during the course of a Parliament for ill health reasons, an ill health retirement grant is payable, calculated in the same way as the Resettlement Grant (as well as an immediate pension based on the service the MP would have accrued if he or she had continued to serve until age 65).[24] Resettlement Grant and Winding-up Allowance[edit] On leaving the House of Commons, an MP will be entitled to what is essentially severance pay. Resettlement Grant[edit] The Resettlement Grant is the name given to the MPs' severance pay package. It may be claimed to help former MPs with the costs of adjusting to life outside parliament. It is payable to any Member who ceases to be an MP at a general election. The amount is based on age and length of service, and varies between 50% and 100% of the annual salary payable to a Member of Parliament at the time of the dissolution.[2] In the UK the first £30,000 of severance pay is tax-free. As stated above, the amount retiring MPs, or those who lose their seats receive, depends on how old they are and how long they have served in the House. For example, an MP who stays in office for one term (say 5 years) and then leaves office will currently receive tax-free severance pay of 50% of their current salary, or £32,383 at current rates – equivalent to an annual salary increment of over £12,000 at current tax rates and pay scales.[25] For the 2010–2015 Parliament, only MPs defeated in their attempt to be re-elected will get one month’s salary for each year served, up to a maximum of six months or over £33,000. From the start of the 2015 Parliament, it will be replaced by a "Loss of Office Payment", at double the statutory redundancy payment. "For the 'average' MP, who leaves office with 11 years' service, this may lead to a payment of around £14,850."[26] Winding-up Allowance[edit] There is also up to £42,000 on offer to pay for winding up staff contracts and office rent.[27] An allowance of up to one third of the annual Office Costs Allowance was paid for the reimbursement of the cost of any work on parliamentary business undertaken on behalf of a deceased, defeated or retiring member after the date of cessation of membership. On 5 July 2001 the House agreed to change the allowance to one third of the sum of the staffing provision and Incidental Expenses Allowance in force at the time of cessation of membership.[28]

I think she's blinded by lofty ambitions, and certainly deluded.
Despite having little national political and/or social experiences - she was a local Labour Councillor in 2013 - she sought the Labour's nomination to be Mayor Of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough which she failed. After being elected to Parliament, in July 2017 she said she wished to be Britain's first black prime minister; suspended, and expelled in December 2018 following a conviction for perverting the course of justice relating to a speeding driving offence.
A recall petition is in operation ending on 1st May to determine her present position as MP for Peterborough.

There is to be a by-election in Peterborough after 19,261 people signed a recall petition to remove the city's disgraced MP Fiona Onasanya. Ms Onasanya, 35, was jailed in January, and released the following month, after lying about a speeding offence. She was expelled by Labour after her conviction and had been representing Peterborough as an independent. A 10% threshold was required to remove Ms Onasanya, who will be allowed to stand in the by-election. According to a spokeswoman for Peterborough City Council, the number of people who signed the petition amounted to 27.6% of eligible residents. Commons Speaker John Bercow confirmed the recall petition had been successful. He told MPs: "Fiona Onasanya is no longer the member for Peterborough and the seat is accordingly vacant. "She can therefore no longer participate in any parliamentary proceedings as a member of parliament." Ms Onasanya, who was jailed for perverting the course of justice, has become the first MP to be removed by the recall process, introduced by David Cameron in 2015. She was first elected to Parliament as a Labour MP with a slender majority of 607 in 2017.
The above from the beeb website. I was wondering if her brass neck would stand another election, but I fear I know the answer.

Are you for real? The Labour Party is near un-electable as it is with that shoddy makeshift lightweight front bench with "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum" at the front, and Noddy who's yet to open her gob in PMQ or debate on Brexit. Also, she's been expelled and most probably ostracised too, and rightly so.

Seen something on twitter that links 3 people associated with Cameron (Advisers etc) who are now all in positions of power in Huawei. All have strong civil service connections as well. Will post full details once I've checked it out myself.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING can or must be leaked from any meeting of the National Security Council.
