little known fact.... was a big fan of McClarens who wanted him in Bow Wow Wow but early success of group and young lead singer that McClaren used to great effect meant that despite appearing on stage at a few of their gigs at 1st excuse he got McClaren sacked him - george subsequently went onto form Culture Club and the rest as they say is history

was fookin freezing mate - temp was 8-9 according to car when i got there but wind chill factor was about -10 - went outside for 1st race and then watched next two from inside bar - caught up wiv wazza in a nice warm office around race 4 and then did a runner after race 5 due to fact me energy levels were sapping - 1st real day out since getting outta hospital so i did ok - anutha meeting coming up in a cupla weeks so if you fancy it giv me a shout - same goes for Briggsy if he reads this - as wazza is a gent away from this place - gr8 track Hexham imo

And Immigration usually an excuse, if you're moving north it's not for the weather but the cheaper housing, buy a 1 bed in central London and you could be looking at close to a million, could buy a few steets in Bradford for that.Only the strong can tough it out in the down south. Won't spoil your greyhound reminiscences by posting that video was the first time I'd say Scurlogue me mate that I went to Brough with had it on video from when it'd been shown on Sky Dogs one night around 2002/03 ish absolute buzz every vid on YouTube.

Gutted lost all my greyhound vids over the years had some corkers used to buy some from the track if there was any in particular we wanted to keep.
The one I'm gutted about losing was the Sky night of the first Northumberland Plate,I'd been backing Zigzag Kit nearly blind in short priced open multis for months and we backed her ante post @ 10's for the big one,only voices that could be heard shouting on the video were mine and me mates stood right next to the Sky microphone. |
