If I go away for a few days leaving my PC switched on which overheats and causes a fire would the insurance company pay out?

I'm not an insurance assessor, but surely no-one has policies that say every device you own has to be switched off whenever you leave the house?  That being the case, I can't imagine anyone could refuse to payout on the grounds of a PC-specific rule (because such a rule most likely doesn't exist)?

I think they would pay out as it is an unlikely event
