No you can take your house of the market anytime, its your property. Obviously once youve exchanged then you would have to pay ten percent to the buyer if you changed your mind.

When we sold our last house the Estate agent said he would get a professional photographer in to take the photo's. If did say would we meet him halfway on the cost for that if we changed our mind which was fair enough. Although the photo's were a waste of time. Even though the house was six bedrooms did we really need fifty plus photo's Crazy

I don't think that it is possible to buy a "two bedroom house in one of the best areas"

Reason; two bedroom houses attract investors that let the property. This can result in any type of person moving in at anytime. You can never make long-term plans if you live in a two bedroom house imo.

What saddens me is that new build estates have nice 3/4 bedroom detached houses but I think I am right in saying that the builders are forced to also build 2 bedroom houses on the same street because of some crazy law Tony Blair passed to do with affordable housing. Must be awful to buy a house of your dreams and then get some tax-creditor moving in next door. Then overnight they disappear, no for sale sign or anything, then it is time to hold your breath again and see who the local authorities dumped next to you. Plain

3/4 bed houses are BTL in many areas.  You can get a lot of Eastern Europeans in one.

Out of interest SV why is it not possible to buy a two bedroom house(bungalow to be precise) in one of the best areas ????? Oh and by btw I don't receive any benefits or tax credits. Also we don't intend moving for many years.

I am selling.
The estate agent handed me a contract and I signed it.  Did you sign a contract?

tax creditor moving in next door, depends how you lable yoyur tax creditors I suppose ,I,d hate to live next door to a self employed tax dodger, getting 40% tax relief on his pension contributions and crying through the daily mail to get the stampduty l;owered in the budget before he moves to a 2,5 million house, on the other hand cant see the problem in living next door to someone with 4 kids going to work in a crappy low paid job getting a leg up with tax credits off the government

like I say depends on how you define your tax creditors LaughLaughLaugh
