I've posted on here before on the subject....
I bought Bitcoin last year and it was at around £8k... It was knocking on the door of £17k by the year end and is now less than £5k.... I'm in it for the long term, but it's not going back to those figures any time soon, if at all! I did try to sell some, as an exercise when it had dropped to E14k, but there were no buyers.... I had £1.15k in Bitcoin so have lost bigtime! I also had £2k in Ether but it's a similar story there too! I had some more in Coinbase but again not good. The big problem I have here is that, with 2FA for security they send a code on each login attempt, to your mobile. I live in woodland, at the top of a big hill, and there is sod all mobile service, so by the time I get the codes they have lapsed! Blockchain can't help, and I can't cancel 2FA without getting into my accounts, so it's a bag of rats! My son is in IT and it was on his encouragement that I rushed into it, because a work colleague had left two years previously and is now a millionaire. The good times have gone, and it is only people like him who have made it big time, by having speculated in the early days. There are scores of these coins and it could be worth a punt on them, as with Penny Shares! If I finally get back what little is left, that's where I will be going, as the bubble has already burst, as was predicted by many, last year! , |

yes a friend of my friend made a lump on them but he was lucky to of sold.
you see the fella that was mining in the early years and his girlfend got fed up of his set up so he binned it all at the peak the hard drive hat had his coins was worth 180 million. he says its 40 million now. how gutting. |

Yes indeed, but it's easy to bemoan it after the event, like any speculative wager!
These people were on the case before few knew about it. I'll never get mine back, but will certainly have a punt at some low priced ones..... Ripple, aka XRP is £0.3511 today, and an associate was holding a bunch (haven't asked how much, and when he bought in, but it was $3 in October 2014).... |

Shares you can only buy and sell but, with crypto, it is said that you can use it as a currency, against other products! I fail to understand the mechanics of that, and who is going to accept them, as unlike cash you know how much is in your wallet, but with Bitcoin et al, the value can be anything, at the point of transfer so, presumably, the only people who will accept them are other speculators! I too got drawn into bitcoin last year and for a time was making £200 a day trading small movements 5/6 times a day.Trouble started when Chicago stock exchange started up a market and basically traders just shorted bitcoin until price collapsed.Still hold but overall am down about £5k but am optimistic price will shoot up again at some point.

Heavily involved in the space now. I don't think it is too late at all. The technology and the rates of adoption for it is still in the very primitive stages. We are finally beginning to see some actual use cases emerge for the technology. The infrastructure etc in place now for mass adoption is vastly superior to what it was this time last year before the big run up. The big banks/corporations will be stepping into this space in the coming months.

Its tough to describe it as a bubble when it is still in such early stages of adoption. Yes the market grew ridiculously quickly and has corrected subsequently. That has happened on numerous occasions throughout the history of Bitcoin. The technologies being developed (not just Bitcoin) will be complete game changers for society. We will look back in 10 years time and go wow.

Just read this nonsense and, following the couple on "Dragon's Den, Willoughby and Schofield did it live on air, allegedly, as I didn't see it! I think you would find, that the registration process takes much longer than implied here (having said that, I didn't register with a broker)! My earlier posts here, are still the current state of play btw! |
