Thing is if they know they've paid it out in error they will demand it back, creating more problems for people.

No Baron, you misunderstand. They are paying it out to claimants who have been under paid.

Is this due to confusion caused by claimants having multiple spouses ? Don't think the computer was set up with this in mind .

Tick one of the following :-
Marital Status ,
a) single
b) married
c) divorced
d) separated
e) widowed

The new form has the above but underneath is a box ...... if b) please state number of spouses in box provided .

No it is backdated payments to Employment and Support Allowance claimants who were underpaid due to government errors.

This is the UK, only one spouse allowed. Why bother changing forms to ask this? Is it a way of getting bigamists to admit a crime or are we pandering to outsiders again?

Government makes mistake and admits to it. Chit chat try to pass the blame on to possible outsiders Laugh

It's not "the tories" who **cked up it'll be civil servants or IT developers.
I don't think May or Gove were doing the relevant processing. HTH.

There should be a couple new Monopoly cards.
"Government IT Scheme screwed up in your favour, collect £5000."
"You say something innocent and someone on the internet takes offence. Convicted of a hate crime. Go directly to jail."
"You are of a minority group the police are scared to touch. Get out of jail free and an entry ticket to York railway museum."

You are trying too hard to look 'right on' jamesdean. No one on this thread has blamed anyone but government. Cherry picking part of my sentence does not change that. Are you still trying to make up for your own racist attack in pikeys by virtue signalling?

I'm not trying to do anything, saddo.

You were trying to say the UK were possibly pandering to outsiders.
So much hatred Sad

By asking how many wives a man has in the UK - a recent addition to the questions- I think I am correct.

Questioning whether the Govt admits polygamy (crime) is taking place here is not hatred.

It is to the SJWs.

Not by asking how many wives a man has, no. By asking if we are pandering to 'outsiders'

This after the DWP (under the governments rules) have already admitted it was their mistake. It's absolutely pathetic!

No one has said it was not the fault of DWP james, you are trying to fudge, give it up.

No, saddo. The Government/DWP made a mistake with payments and owned up to it. Nout to do with any 'outsiders'
Cannot blame them this time I'm afraid

No, Saddo. You are beginning to realise that it is you that's looking silly after trying to blame
those pesky 'outsiders' for something that had nothing to do with them. Obviously dawning on you how pathetic
the blaming is. Good luck...
