EU will not move on the Irish issue - or any other issue of significance if it involves bending their rigid rules. They are unimaginatively locked into their own rigid routine and can only see danger to their inviolable master plan if they are seen to be flexible to a betrayer of their faith. Their only hope for continuance of their project is to keep the sometimes restless flock quiet - by fair means or foul. And their refusal to contemplate reform or any change in the past remains their stubborn policy today even with growing unrest within the remaining membership. Continuing to ignore this pressure or suppressing it could eventually be their undoing. Time will tell.

Are their any businessmen involved on either side  negotiating any of this ?

its like placing a ships anchor round a child's neck and telling them to walk for 20 years with the anchor strapped  to them and in 20 years time you will feel great when the anchor comes back off.The UK people need to stand up to the MP'S on all sides and all say enough is enough with their in house filibustering and get together and strike a deal that is good for the UK and Europe and stop looking for party power.
Report saddo October 15, 2018 7:52 PM BST

And one more point then i will give my views a rest.i think that the Queen herself has the power herself to dissolve parliament ,so if the UK government can not get the problem sorted out the people can march to buckingham palace and request her to sack all the MP'S in one stroke of a pen,and should a million people march to the palace this could happen.
even the idea of this might shake up all the parties in westminster parliament when they all realise that their jobs may be on the lineCool

I don't why see the EU is concerned? N.Ireland will effectively be outside the EU?

Eire will have concerns they fear a hard border will affect business in the South.

It seems to me it is just another EU ploy to stop us leaving.

We cannot allow just anybody to infiltrate this country through Southern Ireland, that is obvious.

It is ok for people who already in Eire, but not people who come from the ret of the EU, it is not on!

The EU? Doubt it. The UK? Why would we? The ROI? Would they let the EU force this on them?
All a nonsense, a solution will be found with the EU and the ROI backtracking on everything they threw up as an obstacle.
Report brassneck October 15, 2018 10:05 PM BST
the main problem is the boat people, when they arrive in europe to go to the UK,Europe will not stop them passing through their countries,in fact they will direct them to the nearest exit, out into the atlantic ocean and give them food and water and tell them ,just follow any english boat with a union jack they will show you the way its the country on the right hand side.
Report akabula October 15, 2018 10:13 PM BST
I take it these people carried their boats through these countries brassie?
Report brassneck October 15, 2018 10:15 PM BST
the real way to solve the problem is for ireland to say they are leaving also and then a deal will be done.but when the MP'S AT THE MOMENT don't care ,its not fair for the UK people who will lose their jobs and suffer famine for many years to come.
Ireland on the other hand will get their begging bowl filled by Europe to comfort the blow of famine.
but its going to be very very bad if the people of the UK do not rise up and tell the MP'S to sort it out and stop playing political games with their future.

And what will the UK do when they catch a ship with 5000 people on board 10 mile from southampton, they cant send them back to France,or Spain.

ireland will still be able to trade with Europe ,but will be banned from trading with the UK if there is a NO DEAL.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By who? Presumably the UK? Which means UK wont be able to trade with Ireland or anyone in the EU. All for one and one for all - thats how the EU works. So you might want to think that one out againCool.

And who might benefit? Ireland, no doubt - by taking up much of trade we would no longer be allowed to do with EU.

(Discovered all of this in Ireland, when Rees-Mogg said UK would stop buying Irish beef - they could hardly stop laughing as it is a miniscule part of their economy and the consequences for us would be bigger!).

under trade laws any country that breaks a trade agreement will be banished from trading for 7 years(7 year contract) with 166 countries world wide.Should the UK break their trade deal with the EU(no deal) sanctions will be placed on the country who try to trade with them,Russia, China, and Angola are not members of the 166 countries(china and russia are half members)and Lybia is the other country who do not agree with the 7 year suspension .
the united states has already warned the UK of the dangers of a no deal and Donald has told Theresa that he will trade with the UK in 7 years time ,Canada has also agreed a 7 year time frame with the UK.Russia would be the best chance for the UK to get a possible deal in trade if the UK walk away with a no deal situation but within 3 years everyone in the UK would be wearing Kossac hats drinking Vodka and mingling with their new turk friends as part of the trade agreement.

I do believe a last minute deal will be pulled out of the hat. Strongly suspect Teresa May wants to get beyond the budget in 2 weeks as she'll need DUP support for that. This story was not largely reported in the UK media. Bridgen has form not knowing what he is talking about when it comes to Ireland.

Anyone else here think they can just get an Irish passport because they are British? Just curious. Serious question.

The Ireland 2040 plan as laid out by the SJW who is now their PM is cultural suicide. If they let that maniac proceed with that, I want a hard border with Ireland anyway, that tool wants turn it into an open border with the third world. F.O.

Varadkar? SJW? He's most likely closest to home in the Tories. Jesus. It is true. People in the UK, when it comes to Ireland are utterly and completely clueless.

As for the 2040 plan, it is probably the first time there has even been a comprehensive approach to national infrastructure. They'll only come in numbers though if there are jobs together with growth. Returning Irish, UK nationals wanting to retire and eastern Europeans mostly.
