Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Mark Zuckerburg have committed huge sums of money to charity. (There are probably others too.)

Well done to them. I'd like to think that if I were a wealthy person, I'd do my bit but I doubt I'd be as generous.

However, I genuinely believe that suddenly gaining a large sum of money without working for it can ruin a person's life.
