I think that's what they call her, anyway she's under pressure for giving the spy chief a promotion, when she actually wanted to sack him for outing her fake news story.

In fact, this guy later backtracked that he was just misunderstood, that he had never questioned the authenticity, and deflected by arguing about definitions. His agency had not even analyzed the video at the time he spread his conspiracy theories. Is that what the chief of your domestic, constitution-guarding intelligence agency should do? Should he serve as a mouth piece of far right conspiracist nuts without his agency even having spent a minute on analysing the material, never delivering a single shred of evidence? He has form with stating he was just misunderstood too. He made....ambigous statements to parliament regarding his agency's involvement regarding both the National Socialist Underground terror network, as well as the islamistic terrorist Anis Amri, and the NSA scandal. Then, as he always does, he spent the majority of time deflecting by arguing about words and definitions. |

Him initially getting a promotion for having done horrendous work though, made waves in Germany and does, as you say, go to show how weakened Merkel's position is these days.
