I always clear my balance before the end of the month...

Same earlier this month and my account was zero....

Just got a message saying my statement was ready to view but they have added a credit amount of £0.06...

They then say that this is the amount to clear the balance!

As it's only 6p, and to save having to argue the toss with them, I clicked on "Pay Statement Balance" and they then tell me I have entered it wrong!!!

This BTW is not the first time, and there must be something seriously wrong with their system, and I can't believe I'm the only one to be affected!

Have had to mail them so we'll see!  Devil

Ok, following my e-mail I got a call from the blasted Indian call centre, with whom I will never knowingly speak as.
like most others, I can't understand a word they speak.

Just had to close down, as it was useless continuing but, in the meantime, an e-mail response had arrived!

The reason I couldn't pay £0.06 is that the minimum payment is £1.00 so why, the hell, didn't they say that in the first place?

As a "gesture of goodwill" they were prepared to write off the £0.06, if I accepted before the 24th September,
so that the writer could inform his colleague to process the refund!

Is this ridiculous, or am I being inconsiderate, and ungrateful?

What's that word that rhymes with bankers....?

Why not just pay the quid and be 94p in credit????????
Report Lady Faye Verrit September 20, 2018 5:50 PM BST
JC.....can't do that, as the account is not allowed to go into credit!

Anyway they have now said that, if this situation occurs again, I have to submit the money (all 6p of it) directly into their bank account!!!

It's just bad website design. And I'm sure would take 5 minutes to fix.

just raise a complaint...if you aint happy with their reply go to ombudsman,

they are in news again today as their system is not working and
folk cant access bank accounts...barclays not barclaycard.

i set up direct debit to clear credit card, so if error occurs its deffo not my fault.

barclaycard constantly send me application forms , i fill the postage paid reply envelope
with junk mail and return it to them

horrible company

The problem with not being able to clear a balance is if you don't then you start getting charged interest on future payments until cleared so the not being able to clear 6p could cost significant money. Calling them to sort out their own incompetence then costs you time you are not paid for.

I find this sort of shoddy incompetence annoying.

Although the way to deal with this isn't to use barclayards website at all.
You just set up a payment to barclayacard on your OWN online bank, set the appropriate reference (i.e. your card number) and pay it from your own bank. That's way I pay off all my credit cards/bills.
