Ye Gods, the Emmys show looked truly excruciating from that excerpt. An insult to anyone's intelligence.
The last thing the Entertainment business needs nowadays are Awards Ceremonies, because they are rapidly (and unsurprisingly) becoming a turn-off for the viewer. TV dramas are in much the same catastrophic state.
Whatever happened to employing people on ability, and actual talent, then rewarding on performance and merit, rather than on their gender identity/race/sexual preference religious belief?
If I want to hire a plumber, I want one with a successful track record in the job. I'm not interested in his sexual preference, or whether he wears women's clothing on a Saturday night.
