Crocodile tastes exactly like chicken, also frogs legs do as well.
|
|
By:
Agree re frogs legs!. As below, Rabbit is often compared to chicken but it is really texture/colour rather than flavour that is similar. Additionally rabbit has a distinctive, but not unpleasant, smell. Squirrel is lovely and much closer to chicken than rabbit, which given that it is a "tree rat" might explain the similarity of rat, not that I have tried the latter.
I had rattlesnake in Arizona and it tasted exactly like chicken; But that is probably because it was ![]() |

Rabbit is very nice blackbarn when it's cooked properly and not overdone. The Spanish especially love rabbit (it is known as the country of rabbits after all) and it's quite the norm for them to put it in paella and stews etc. I think rabbit has far more flavour than chicken personally.

slippy - couldn't agree more!! I was merely pointing out its difference to chicken. I am pretty sure that the rabbit/chicken thing came about simply as a ploy to get us kids to eat it - it was certainly used by my mother and grandmother.

I use a tin of Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup to make crab bisque (heat with equal quantity of full-cream milk, tin of crab, butter and sweet Hungarian paprika).
It works, partly because crab tastes a bit like chicken, but mostly because it's a damn sight quicker and easier than making crab stock. |

I absolutely love crab, I used to spend a lot of time in Norfolk and Suffolk and had Cromer crab regularly.

The perfect day out for me is a trip to Teignmouth on that train that feels like it's running across the sea when the tide's in. A stroll along the beach with the dog and an ice cream. Then tea at the Crab Shack next to the harbour (the mother and daughter run the deli/restaurant, while the husband and sons take the two boats out to catch the crabs).
