I already was very deaf, and have to wear two hearing aids.
Perhaps ten weeks ago I found I had no hearing in one ear!
I blamed the hearing aid, but then discovered that pressing the chanel button, was sending the request to the other ear, so it obviously wasn't the hearing aid causing the problem.
Decided to make an audiology appointment, but first to have my ears syringed.
My ears were perfectly clean, so began to try to get an appointment, but their lines are permanently engaged!
Found their e-mail address, and told them the problem, but they gave me an appointment in precisely four weeks time.
This in spite of the fact that it is to be treated as a medical emergency!
On the appointment I was told what I already knew, being I had zero hearing in one ear.
Audiologist says it's out of the scope of his roll, and will make an appointment with an E.N.T. consultant, and that was another month later, being today.
I was only there for six minutes, whilst he told me what I already know, being that my ears are clean, and whatever the reason is it is unlikely to be fixable!
I now have to wait, possibly three weeks, for an MRI scan, just to try to determine what is the problem!
Looked on line, as we do, and apparently it's a medical emergency, and the advice is to see an E.N.T. consultant within 24 hours!!!!
What feking planet are these people on?

Have you considered changing your nationality ? I think you'll find this may help

BABY OIL,REPEAT "PUT BABY OIL IN YOUR EARS"AND YOU WILL BE PERFECT BY 9 PM.
if you have no baby oil use olive oil,but baby oil will be better if the skin in your ear is tender.rub the outer ear after putting 2 to 3 drops into each ear to work the oil down the canal and the oil will clear the track and repair skin damage all in one hour.
it is an old granny to granny handed down cure,and you know what they say"granny knows best"
Hearing is too important to leave for a month,go to a private hospital,pay £150 or whatever for an urgent appointment,you will probably see the sameconsultant you are appointed for anyway and fastrack the next stage.Just do it if the baby oil doesn't work (cant see it doing any harm and just might work overnight).
