"a guy can save a few quid by putting patches on his elbows of his old sports coat.i have an old checkered sports coat that has hung in the wardrobe for years and i was thinking about putting patches on the elbows of it.Has anyone any advice about doing this.

of course if i do get patches on this checkered sports coat i would need a cap for my head to go with it,i would have to drive land rover.

i would like my sportscoat to look like a Terry Thomas sports coat,and i guess i would need a new pair of brown shoes,because anyone who wears a checkered sports coat always wears brown shoes,so that said the patches on the elbows will also have to brown leather patches.
