This has made me a little sad, how noncey the world is.

Young women live in these places and they are easy pray

What about if the tenant actually was a prostitute? Would it still be viewed as unacceptable?

Well known in my neck of the woods that going way back to the 70's nurses from King's College, Guy's and St Thomas's hospitals would pay their rent with sex to the landlords.

Some women would happily do it though and that's the counter argument

Yes I agree the landlords pressuring young women into sex for rent is over the line, but at the same time there are a lot of women out there who would offer it in exchange for not paying rent, and a man really isn't ever going to turn it down is he?!

But its the young women who feel pressured into it that need protection

If the woman is happy and is consenting then I don't see what the problem would be, if she know the man as well its not a problem

Not a new phenomenon. Emile Zola described it in one of his novels written over a century ago. Not sure which one, "Germinal" I think.

What about the other way round? Say you're co-habiting with your partner and she/he suddenly decides that she/he doesn't want to sleep with you anymore. Would it be illegal if you then asked to her to pay you rent instead?
