They are moving into the next concentric circle outside Dewsbury and white flight is accelerating from traditional estates of semis. Things are changing at a pace. |

If you think about it, where did it all start following this specific wave of immigration a few decades ago?......well, must have been with the first one who in, "good faith and without a crystal ball", sold his/her house/flat..........and from then on it just snowballed in various areas, as the article re Savile clearly highlights.
(am being generous here, rather than saying the one with a......I am simply relocating and taking the highest price and "goodbye and good luck", approach) We are where we are, partly as a result of that widespread modus operandi imo ......so who is to blame?......is too late now for some who wish to preserve their communities as to how they would like them to be.....but not too late for everyone I guess. |

This has been happening in vast swathes of Newham for years now, though there are two ways of looking at " white flight " as its called, one is the white population being " pushed out " or the other is where are they going, well most likely to a so called " white area " they like the ethnic population that move in want to be in an area mainly with people of a similar ilk, to be honest you can't blame anyone in this situation, EVERYONE wants to live in an area where they feel comfortable.

People WERE living in areas where they felt comfortable.something happened that the people had no say in where the newcomers were allocated housing but it did not affect those living in the Cotswolds or similar.

Some immigrant communities do choose to live in clusters citing security (a misconception) due to arrogance and insecurity and not embrace integration whilst others do not eg Chinese, Turkish, West Indians, and the majority of those from the former Russia bloc who are more open to learning English and integrate into the British way of life.
On the other hand one community in particular tend not to nevertheless, very vociferous in local and national politics of their host country eg Uganda, Fiji, Kenya, etc, to the extent that this community eventually would be/was driven out by their hosts. I believe if immigrant communities do not try to understand and/or integrate into the way of life of their host country inevitably inter-racial hostilities and/or with host country will surface. |
