NOT!

Ironing is high up the list, but hugely beaten by changing the duvet cover!

Last three attempts I gave up, and resigned myself to just using it as a bedspread, as in days of yore!

Just taking a break from attempting, and failing miserably, having watched some you tube vids....

Sis' told me to me to do it inside out. Put your hands inside to the corners and then grip the duvet corners; pull the corners together, grip with one hand and pull it over with the other, shake it and... voila!

Still sucks but I haven't found an easier method
Report Lady Faye Verrit September 8, 2018 1:11 PM BST
Yeah, that's the way my daughter said, and was my chosen way, but it isn't helped by the cover being very heavy!

Just trying the rolling, so called, Burrito method....

Changing the duvet cover is quite easy.  I assume you can remove the old one?

To put on the new one -

Spread the cover on the bed with the opening facing you.

Take the duvet by two adjacent corners and nip up the hanging bit into the middle - you will now be holding three bits of the same edge.

Lift the cover with one hand and insert the three bits up to the far end, whilst drawing down the whole cover.

Once the three bits are touching the far end of the cover, hold the duvet with one hand (from outside the cover) and take one corner to one of the two corners of the cover - from within the cover.

Then hold said corner from outwith the cover with one hand and insert the other hand into the cover, hold the other edge of the duvet and spread across to the other adjacent corner.

Then hold both corners - from outwith the duvet cover - spread your arms and give the cover a shake down until most of the duvet is consumed.

Place the whole thing back on the bed and take one of the far corners in hand, whilst with the other hand lining the duvet down the edge of the cover from within until you reack the corner (on the same side, obvs!)>

Then hole that corner from without wwith one hand and with the other, hold the last remaining corner of the duvet and draw along to the final corner of the cover.

Again, hold both corners from without and give a couple of shakes to square things up.

Finally, zip / stud / whatever the opening up.

Job's a good un!

PS, I haven't read this back before posting, so get back to me if there are any problems

Insert the three bits up to the far end - and aim for the middle!

Ok, just watched the video again and I give up!

They are all using lightweight duvets, and covers, and small beds...mine is 6'00" so that doesn't help!
Report Aspro September 8, 2018 1:34 PM BST
There's an answer in there somewhere LFV

Get inside the duvet cover-like a sleeping bag- and put the duvet on top, much easier.

How many hands do you have trilby?
Report trilby22 September 8, 2018 3:59 PM BST
Excited not enough! Whoops

Seriously though, are my instructions not clear?
Report Knight Commander September 8, 2018 4:57 PM BST
Got my sister to unpick the ends and fit 2 zips, starting at the far ends and meeting in the middle.

Simply lay the cover on the bed, open the zips and fold back the top. Lay the duvet on the exposed bottom, fold the top back over and zip up.

What sort of idiot can't put their hands in the corners of a Duvet cover and grab the corners of the Duvet?

Obviously this sort of idiot, but I'm aware of all the techniques, though in reality it's totally different with a heavy weight 7'6" wide cover,
and an autumn weight duvet, and doing it single handed!

I really enjoy cooking, I'm no great shakes really as a chef but what I do prepare I do it properly.

Aye, it's leaving the pot noodle for the full two minutes, which is simply beyond some.
Report SlippyBlue September 8, 2018 9:07 PM BST
I can do a beef Wellington that you would pay good money for saddo at any top class restaurant and my eggs Benedicts are rather good as well, or so I'm told.

Yes trilby, 52 today. I've not that long got back. I'm in Bedford dog sitting for my brother who is in Sweden for a week with his missus and others on a holiday and I went to watch the rugby this afternoon, with an old mucker, Bedford beat Jersey which was a lot of fun and brought me back to the days when I played rugby union. It was a very nice birthday Happy
