I hadn't heard of her either Kenny. It's a shame she died so young.

She was on Five live apparently Foinavon. I tend to listen to Talk Sport and Radio 4Extra these days.

Thanks, Kenny. I recognise all those scenes although much has changed since the film was made, notably the hideous brutalist Bullring which has been redeveloped into something more modern. The open air market is still there. Digbeth, the opening scene, is much the same but most other areas have been pedestrianised and city centre buses replaced with trams. The buses are painted red now, that cream livery looks very dated.
The only radio programmes I listen to are Radio 3 and classic FM so it's not surprising I haven't had the pleasure of listening to her. |

Funnily enough, the bULL RING was the answer to a question on The Chase, yesterday. Question was I think which is the longest serving market area? in the Uk. going since the middle ages apparently.

I haven't been here that long, Kenny.
Missed The Chase yesterday. |

Nice words from her family......
"She was an incredibly talented broadcaster as well as a wonderful and much loved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, wife and, most importantly to her, a mother to her precious little Freddie. "We all take such huge comfort and pride from the amazing and tireless work she has done since her diagnosis to reduce the stigma around cancer and prove that it is possible to live life to the fullest even when facing huge challenges on a daily basis. At the end, even though her body was at its weakest, her voice was at its strongest and most powerful." He describes her as "perfect in every way", adding "we will miss her more than words can say". She was a very talented broadcaster and was wonderful on late night Radio 5 shows |

11,563 deaths from breast cancer in 2016 - sadly many of them were women of Rachael's age.
