Roth every time. Technically not a great singer but what a frontman.
Similarly any other groups with such a disparity of talent between players? On the one hand you've got Eddie who re-invented guitar playing and on the other you had Michael Anthony who'd struggle to get into most pub bands. Bizarre. Adore Panama. Ultimate pop/rock song. Our go to tune if we think they want the volume turning up. |

I saw Hagar back in 1980 with Riot supporting at Portsmouth Guildhall. Unfortunately, Hagar had yet to release Standing Hampton and Riot, Fire Down Under - the best rock/metal album of all time. One day, people will wake up and realise just what a genius Mark Reale was. I found a concert ticket of Hagar from the Hammersmith Odeon but I cannot for the life of me remember anything about that gig or even being there and yet I must of been

I got the latest Roth/Halen album with the train on the front, thought it was a bit of a disappointment tbh.
I kind of lost a lot of respect for them the bad way they treated their original Bass player and replaced him with Eddie's salad averse son.. |

I agree, just sounds like noise to me. I think Roth has lost it myself - his voice has gone, where as Hagar never seems to age. I would say my two fav VH albums are Diver Down and Fair Warning. One Foot Out The Door has my favourite Eddie guitar solo - he's really searching for it ![]() |

A pleasing surprise in a charity shop yesterday. A good-as-new copy of 2CD "Best of Both Worlds' compilation snaffled up for 50p.
Hagar btw for me. "When It's Love" and "Why Can't This Be Love?" probably my preferred VH singles. |
