These punks were going to change the world. She's now doing a quiz show and has done Songs of Praise and Johnny Rotten has done some butter adverts.
Did I miss the revolution? |

I was never a fan of hers musically but she always came across as being a very decent and intelligent person.

It was a toss-up between her and Hazel O'Connor who got the part in Breaking Glass. Lovely lady; my step-mother worked at her accountants for a while, where Toyah personally sent me a signed photo and a back stage pass to her Hammersmith Odeon concert... so long ago but she has definitely aged better than me!

She was on the front page of some Birmingham magazine a few months ago and she looked stunning that picture was definitely touched up and having seen her in some celeb programme (coach trip or similar), i can confirm that she looks like any other 60 y o woman without make up. Never a fan but certainly admire her for her determination to make a great career for herself after having a very tough start in life.
Toyah was born with a twisted spine, clawed feet, a clubbed right foot, one leg two inches shorter than the other and no hip sockets as well as her speech impediment. Because of this she endured years of painful operations and physiotherapy. As an actress i best recall her with Lesley Ash in a TV drama with Laurence Olivier called The Ebony Tower, where these two punk girls had a very strange relationship with a much older artist, quite sexual i seem to recall. |

I liked Hazel O'Connor.
I often wonder where celebrities of the past are today. Would make a wonderful tv prog imo. Maybe a lot of them would prefer not to look back now but I'm sure it would make interesting viewing. |

Already been done ericster. Recently a prog about 5 old slappers going to Greece to see if they could still pull a waiter

I did see a trailer for that programme K.C. It looked a rather ill thought out project but if you consider 47 year old Melinda Messenger to be an "old slapper" then you must have exceedingly high standards! I think she looks great personally.

On the subject of Toyah I did like some of her older stuff. IEYA was a good tune and the song she usually opened her concerts with, but Danced was a favourite of mine; unfortunately she couldn't get near the studio version when playing live.

I could look through her keyhole...drive past her gaff most mornings in leafy Pershore.

Didn't Toyah Wilcox marry the actor from Love thy neighbor, the bloke who played Eddie ?

Toyah is/was married to Robert Fripp, musician.
