It's interesting that this year I've had no allergies whatsoever after cutting out all fats, meat and dairy they've just completely disappeared yet eat Shredded Wheat and Protein Oaties in large quantities daily (very little bread only occasional spelt bread) with no problems,in your case strong allergic reactions to rapeseed in particular the various oils and fats look to be responsible for the susceptibility to other allergies the kicker as you posted investment £££££££ Devil

if u have a dicky Tummy they do not check for Rapeseed allergy .

Who doesn't check, and who are the people who might?

Which brings us to - how could they check anyway?

The first hurdle to cross is finding an NHS doctor who will admit food intolerance might be a problem.

Even if you get that far, isolating a food intolerance is a far from simple process.

With regard to the OP.

''In the speech given at the University of Freiburg, Dr Michels stated that coconut oil is “one of the worst foods you can eat†due to the damaging effect the saturated fatty acids in the coconut oil can have on your body.''

Meat, dairy and fish all contain significant amounts of saturated fats.

I have been Checked for Most Food intolerances ,RAPESEED is not on the list of General checks , I cannot think of what I wasnt checked for never mind Tubes up and Down dozens of Blood tests ,until I myself realised what was Causing the Problem .

Report Dr Crippen August 23, 2018 11:27 AM BST
casemoney, what kinds of tests were these and who did them?

Because food intolerances don't show up on blood tests, or any other tests that have any credibility outside of exclusion diets.
Allergic reactions to food are a different matter, for these they use skin tests.

I realise there are people who claim they can detect food intolerances through blood tests, but they've been shown to be worthless.

I'm the same as casemoney in so far as I cannot stand coconut either, even the mere smell of it is unpleasant to me let alone eating it.

good luck trying....theres not that much stuff in supermarkets without it.

In hindsight there had to be reasons why they were promoting it on Countryfile and James Martins' shows a few years back.

It's quite an undertaking to accurately isolate an ingredient in processed foods that might be giving you problems.

Interesting link from Donny.
From the stuff I've read, oils are liquid fats and as such they're all bad for us.

This is interesting coming from a health website.

''Nor could manufacturers return to using traditional healthy saturated fats—butter, lard, tallow, palm oil and coconut oil—''

''traditional healthy saturated fats eh,'' just the kind we've been told for decades to avoid because they cause heart disease?

Can we trust anyone to tell us the truth anymore? Or could we ever?

Ur spot on But when someone is Cooking with it,  Its soon Isolated when you realise  . I have always had aversion to it but didnt know

Until we started cooking with it That went on for 6 months before I realised what it was ,Obviously days of no Fries or

Roasts , I was semi  ok But that didn't dawn on me ,I was totally Baffled , for many years I have suffered  With Gastric Problems

and Flu Like symptons, But when food cooked in it was consumed I was extremely Unwell , I have also Cut out regular Bread

I now only eat the Part baked Rolls they Contain no RS oil , I have been 100 % better Bar the Vape incident Laugh

And I avoid anything that Contains RS ,The difference is amazing   , I was tested Mainly for Allergies , Gluten  intolerence

is a Blood test From what i can remember ,There was also Another that was a Blood test but I cant remember what it was

and the Skin pricks as well, Was rather annoying when All came back negative ,I was very poorly for a couple of weeks Prior

To having  the Stomach tube Put down , The only thing they found was Inflamation , I should have been Pleased but I was not

Was at my Wits end Sad About 4 weeks after this I was shopping with the Mrs She picked a bottle of the Oil up  ,I said

when did you start using that , Bingo Happy Amazing I had not realised before but with it coming and Going on a daily basis

And never having Previous Problems with Roast Etc it would never have crossed my mind , Mcdonalds Use Rapeseed Oils for years I would be Unwell after eating it Had not a Clue ...

There is a Field Opposite My House the Farmer Grew Rapeseed  last year  Strangely it didnt cause me any Symptons

I picked one of the Flowers and Rubbed it on my hand and immediately My skin reacted that was the only reaction I had ..
Report Dr Crippen August 24, 2018 3:14 PM BST
Checking through my kitchen eight items contain Rapeseed oil.
While they all contain a host of other stuff as well, some of it is simply to extend shelf life.

When we look around us, take note of all the people who appear to be under the weather and for no apparent reason.
Baggy eyed with strained looks on their faces, these are the prime candidates for sufferers of food intolerances.
The heavy eyes are the big giveaway, sometimes called allergic shiners.

Processed food has a lot to answer for.

Coconut oil is ‘pure poison’, Harvard professor claims.

The wife is virtually dipped in it ! Been using it for several years on her skin and hair and oil pulling - which is some ancient Indian dental technique - that involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for about 15 mins. And this supposedly draws out toxins in your body and good for your teeth and gums. She also uses it for cooking, frying, baking, roast, stir-fries, and spreads it on brown toast !

Now supposedly it's 'pure poison'.Surprised It's hard to know what to believe. Everything in moderation I suppose. She does buy the organic virgin coconut oil, don't know if that is any different or is that 'pure poison' as well ?! Could be some ££££££ agenda behind these claims. Go by your gut feeling and what YOU think, NOT what you are TOLD to think !!
Report Dr Crippen August 24, 2018 7:13 PM BST
Last year, the American Heart Association updated its guidelines in regard to the saturated fatty acids found in coconut oil, advising that people should replace the saturated fats in their diets with unsaturated fats instead in order to lower their risk of developing cardiovascular disease later on in life.

And that's just to lower the risk, not remove the risk.

The fact remains that heart disease and strokes are still as commonplace as ever despite what they tell us.
Report Dr Crippen August 25, 2018 12:02 PM BST
Here's a simple uncomplicated way of making your own additive free bread, beautifully explained as well.

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bread+with+fewest+additives&qpvt=bread+with+fewest+additives&view=detail&mid=008ACBC2DE35E15E49D8008ACBC2DE35E15E49D8&&FORM=VRDGAR

So there's no need to give up the ''staff of life'' because of the additives in commercially baked bread.
