The first suspect is described by police as being in his 40s, large build, wearing a white shirt and jeans. The second man was in his 30s and is described as slim.

Perfect description of what these two low life $**** were wearing but NOT of what ethnicity they are which i thought would have been of some relevance.

The Daily Mail is turning into the Guardian ..so it seems!

The attack comes as acid becomes increasingly prevalent in crimes up and down the country.Latest figures show there have been 800 acid attacks in the past 12 months.

Blimey, that figure can't be right.

2017 - 465 acid attacks
2016 - 395 acid attacks
2015 - 255 acid attacks

I can acquire a knife with ease , a gun takes a little more effort but with the right (or wrong) connections isn't particularly difficult . But acid ? I really wouldn't have a clue !
Is it purchased over the internet ? Manufactured in some dimly lit east end basement ? Seriously , where do they get the stuff ? Confused

Certain Drain Cleaners will do you no Favours if squirted at your Head reynard.

Also the Gear used to clean ovens etc would not be too favourable.

The acid-throwing dognappers have had their ethnicities revealed. Compare these descriptions with the OP.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6099567/Police-hunt-thug-tried-steal-mans-pet-dog-hurling-acid-victims-face.html

A police spokesman said: 'One of the men is described as being white, in his mid 40s, 5ft 11in tall, of large build and with short dark hair.

'He was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.

'The second man is described as being white, in his 30s, 6ft tall, of slim build and with dark hair.'

I don't currently have a dog but did before: any proper dog "owner" knows,
they aren't a posession, they are family! :)

Honestly though this "acid attack" sh1t. Just make any attack assault with
a deadly weapon X 3 or 5. It's obvious current laws are not doing it.

@Just Checking -- the problem is not the jail terms, it is the low probability of getting caught as the government has decimated police forces. For the young gang members (not the dognappers) they are more likely to face the death penalty if they are not tooled up when attacked by rival gangs.

It is gangs that are the menace -- the common factor in knife and acid attacks, and in the industrial scale rapes by Asian gangs in mainly northern towns -- and the authorities should do more to disrupt them, including using so-called Al Capone tactics of prosecuting them for tax evasion and other, apparently unrelated crimes: charge them with not having television licences if that is the only thing they can get evidence for.
