OP is clearly non compos mentis. Deptford is the rottenest place I've ever lived, even worse than the notorious Gurnos Estate in Merthyr Tydfil. Probably spent less than a year there and got take hostage once and robbed twice (once at knifepoint)

Deptford, a lovely little hamlet village type area

"in bed with my wife" seems very popular.....dunno is there sumfink she's not telling me

Hey JM - How are you. I must send you an update - (Worse than AG but better than RH. but AG is doing amazingly well.

Any three NH racecourses in August, before the advent of year-round jump racing, and before Betfair reduced the betting ring to irrelevance. As I wrote on another thread at this time last year ...

First Saturday in August, the lounge of the Queen's Hotel, Newton Abbot, before racing, and seeing your mates again for the first time in 8 weeks

Hard ground at "Dee 'n' Ee"

Staying over at the Palace Hotel in Torquay, or Sampson's outside Newton Abbot (or a bench in that recreation ground opposite the station)

Stephen Little, Conky Woods, 'Ave It On With Avalon

Eddie the Shoe, Alan the Beard, Dodger McCartney

Adge abandoning his passengers on the Exe ferry to work a couple of hours in the Ring at Newton

That fishmonger's stall in the silver ring

Plumpton and Fontwell, Penny Ffitch-Heyes and Manhattan Boy

Milton Bradley and Mighty Marine. And Grey Dolphin. And Yangtse-Kiang

I don't think anything has given me more pleasure, profit and achingly happy memories than August NH racing before it got lost with the advent of summer jumping.

Deptford

Conky woods was a good friend of mine

He was certainly a one-off: the sort of character who makes Somerset what it is. Any place is only as good as its people.

Calling FATTIEWHITEYLOVESADRINK

Re: your Custom House choice. A Newham gentleman and sadly missed former stalwart of this Forum has asked me to contact you on his behalf.  He thinks he might know you as that's his former manor. And I believe he was the Guv'nor. Apart from Danny Dyer obviously. And maybe Queenie Watts.

Can I contact you via the Betfair Personal Messaging system to take this further?  He'd do it himself but the Moderators didn't like his well-judged, statistically sound observations on many a pressing issue in Progressive Britain.

Sorry to freak you out on a Sunday and all.

Kind regards

Yio Chu Kang fishing pond - Singapore c. 1978,  Had my first cigarette there.  Lucky Strike, lol - not so lucky!

Desaru - south Malaysia, thoughout the late 70's

Scotland

You were doing so well until you said Scotland trilby

Which fish do you have down there, Danno?  Do you et them?

Salmon & trout here and they work a bar-b deliciously

Singapore we caught mostly carp in the pond - grassies and mirrors.  Sold them to the local Chougie restaurant and had beers and eats included

Tapioca and chicken feed were the two main baits in freshwater.

Eat, not expecting anything extra terrestrial

Ikan Jippon sp? Japanese fish - like perch - were a pain in the Rolf but they fried up well with chilli, ginger and garlic

Other than a bit of cod I'm not a great fish eater trilby. I mainly fish for chub, Barbel and perch

When I was a kid my aunt and grandad lived in Scotland, I used to fish the wee burns for trout with worms........happy memories and only kidding the highlands are lovely.

I know your jesting DAn

I can't really understand fishing unless you eat them.

What's with this putting them back malarkey?

What's the biggest perch you caught?

3lb 4oz had two of them at that weight

Going to try and hit the magic 4lb mark this season

They're big MFs!

Caught an 8lb pike once by mistake fly fishing on Bute - where Bluebird's being tested just now.

Few perch in there but they're only tiddlers, lol - for a reason!
