Why do people read the news,social media,Facebook.youtube,and post it?

To glean bits of news here, there, everywhere so as to able to piece it together to work out the truth, imo.

Human nature innit. Majority of people love breaking news. Wife down the road runs out to tell folk passing that someone has died.

Who died?

Because they can easily find what want to see or already believe and reinforce views and find like-minded believers.
and also
Because it enables those who have nothing to say to have a voice as well as giving a voice to people who shouldn't have one.
