Back from an Audiology appointment, and it's not looking good!

I've worn two hearing aids for eight years, and without them I am lost!

About two months ago I felt that the hearing in one ear wasn't good, but to the point it was pretty much zero.

I knew it wasn't the aid itself, as it was able to send signals to the other one.

Also, with or without the aids, the sound of my electric razor was loud in my right ear, but next to nothing in my left ear.

I was thinking it must be a wax issue, so made an appointment with a nurse to have them syringed.

She said it looks ok but did a token clean which brought out just a little.

It took six weeks to get an audiology appointment (because I'm not Polish)!

The audiologist, after a hearing test, confirmed what I had said, and said it wan't normal, and I should have gone to the doctor!

Well how the hell was I to know that?

No doubt the doctor would have said "go to the audiologist"!

So he's making an appointment with an ENT doctor, and then to follow up back with them.

I asked how long it might be as it took six weeks last tme and  he said "a good few weeks"!

Just been having a search on Google, and the first advice is that it should be treated as an emergency!!!

Oh yeah!!!

Get an appt with the nurse at your GP surgery.....

It's only a fifteen minute procedure and hoprfully that will sort you out.

Get a pipette from the pharmacy and insert warm olive oil (not Duchams 20/40) for a week or so before.

You've reminded me of one of a family guy quip
The teenagers swear off sex and end up having sex in the ear.
The TV newsreader solemnly covers the story and finishes with ..
"this is prompting a new slogan .. "Once you go black .. you go deaf"" Wink
