My phone drains two full batteries in just eight hours!

Only had it for four months, and the batteries are of the same age....

I don't have wi-fi running, unless I am using it, and similarly Blue Tooth and GPS.

I have christ knows how many apps, that I never use, so the question is what to get rid of that could be causing the problem?

Go to Settings>Battery>usage details to see what is using the battery.

Mmmmm.

Adjust to a lower screen brightness (a big reason batteries run low)
Use power saving app
Change screen timeout to a lower time (what is it set now?)
Use a black wallpaper instead of a bright colour

If it's android you can dig into battery usage and it'll give you an indication of the apps responsbile for it, with a bit of luck.

OF course what a lot of people don't realise is when you go from one app to the other you can leave the original app doing crap in the background.

Depending on model what you may want to do is go into that list of all apps running (new phones it's a button like a square, old phones hold the home button or something) and close the apps you aren't using. New phones it's a cross like windows, old phones you grab the apps and "Swipe" them off the screen.

This shuts them properly.

Thanks all for helping.

The reason I'm asking on here is I can't make total sense of advice from "motor mouthed" Americans' with their fingers flying all over the screen,
so can't see what they have clicked on.

Also, I don't know why it is, that the sequence of written advice always grinds me to a halt, when I don't have the same sequences on my phone!

Example as above being, when I go to Settings>Battery>....I don't have Useage!

When I go to Apps I get three screens of all the apps in the phone, but don't know which are running, and neither do I know what many of them are!

I'll have to wait for my techy family to have a look for me, but thanks again....

I assume that is because the phone is running an older/different version of Android?

When you go to Settings>Battery, does it not give you any info on usage at all (maybe after scrolling down)?

Thanks again Gin but, no I don't get usage, so have put the sim into My S3 untill my techies are with me.
