Off the door.!  Oh and they didn't want to alert the occupants.

Some have a hydraulic ram which spreads the frame prior to the 'big red key' being used.

Unfortunately because of health and safety the police can't bend down and lift up door mats and pot plants.

The easy way to break the lock on these plastic doors, is to smack off the door handle and expose the lock then break it off with a pair of pliers or a wrench.
They snap off easily if they're the non-snap proof type which most are.

Easy peasy.

Granted that's a bit high tech for plod.

If you've got a plastic door I suggest you replace the lock with a snap proof type.

At least then the burglar will have some work to do if he tries to get in.
