I know it will be a violent film but could anybody tell me if there are any scenes of animal cruelty, please? Going to watch it with the wife and she gets really upset over that sort of thing, so will switch to something else if needs be.

Not as good as the 1st film though still a reasonable watch and definitely no animal cruelty.
I must admit I have turned into one of those people who find myself getting more upset about cruelty to animals rather than humans in tv dramas and even in real life which I know I shouldn't.
Yes, people have been well conditioned these days to find animal suffering worse than human suffering. Both are bad of course.
