It's all about the visual element. Trump visiting the UK is a non-event on a global scale but you can guarantee there will be pictures of the balloon on tv channels and newspapers around the world. That will then lead to coverage of the size of the protest itself.
I the UK - special relationship and all that - shows this much disdain for the current president it may make other like minded people more engaged and also show the folks back home how low their country's stock has fallen in the last couple of years in the eyes of other democratic western countries. The balloon is the key in this. It's a bit of a masterstroke really. |
