Me to be picked up at 10:30. and off to "Temple Newsam" for an early lunchtime event. to celebrate my eldest grandson's 9th birthday.
This is where it all started to go wrong....
Daughter was late as she had to go back to get his card and pressie....
When we arrived a gazebo was set up, and with World Cup Flags and birthday bunting.....
Then a scream from my DIL as her two year old was heading off, at great speed, downhill, on his balance bike.
Birthday boy gave chase and caught him as he was about to go off the grass, onto a tarmac foot path...
Unfortunately he fell off and crashed head first onto the path...
Despite the fact that he was wearing a helmet, he hit his forehead and cheek, and was bleeding badly...
My son ran off for a first aider, who was quick to arrive, but had to then get someone to come with a first aid kit, and to say that he neeed to go to hospital.
Two hours later he was sent from St James's to LGI for some reason, and I don't have full detail!
The latest word is that he must be awoken every two hours and assessed.
Yes Reynard, that's the concern but, on arrival he had a lump like a golf ball, but it had reduced over the next couple of hours, and the doctor said that was an indicator that the lump was outside of his skull!
Just looking at some photos now, and it's seriously upsetting.
Birthday boy is really upset, and James thinks if Lucas hadn't grabbed the brake he would just hsve come to a stop!
I'm so glad we are a good and caring family, as many would have ranted at Lucas, and made him feel even worse!
Thanks guys....Yes Reynard, that's the concern but, on arrival he had a lump like a golf ball, but it had reduced over the next couple of hours, and the doctor said that was an indicator that the lump was outside of his skull!Just looking at some pho
