I wrote a cheque for £150.00, to my nephew as a wedding gift, on 04/04

This was the the only one since 05/14.

Three weeks later it wasn't showing against my current account, but I was told it had been presented and cleared.

I dug out the cheque book, from a pile of unused ones,`and good grief, it is a closed account!

Presenting a cheque where funds are not available is a criminal offense.

It's been almost three months now, and without a word  from the bank!

The last thing I want is them taking some action, which could affect my 999, perfect credit score!

Will have to go to the branch, to try to sort it out, and hoping I don't open up a can of worms!

Do you mean I was here in a previous life?

I would be surprised if someone else shared my name, albeit with a different spelling!

They'll take the money from the account you have that is funded as soon as they notice.

Then charge you for being overdrawn in the one that you closed, no doubt.

They'll dig out some small print somewhere that allows them to do it.

I'm sure I read somewhere that crimes of this nature attract a mandatory custodial sentence.

Surely a trifle for a custodial sentence.

May as well be hanged for a sheep, as a lamb, so will send myself a cheque for £2k, to a different account, and see how that goes....Laugh
