Sad

Only 6,000 people live there so expect it to be solved soon at least.

Don't think there's more than a dozen CCTV cameras on the entire island so they'll be totally reliant on DNA . In the absence of CCTV or DNA evidence they're fkd ! Unfortunately modern day police investigators are totally reliant on forensics , gone are the days of Morse , Taggart etc.
In desperation they'll try and pin it on some half-wit crofter with an IQ

In the last hour the police have arrested a 68 year-old Crofter on suspicion of Murder . No name has been released yet . Further details to follow ............
By:
Ramruma
When: 04 Jul 18 17:42
I thought you said 68 would be the crofter's IQ, not his age.
By:
Reynard
When: 04 Jul 18 17:49
It's not impossible for BOTH age AND IQ to be 68 , however unlikely .
Update : The man arrested earlier has been questioned and released on Police Bail . Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious on the island since September 2013 .

Poor kid indeed. May she rest in peace.

It would be unusual for a child to be murdered by her grandfather. Let us see what the police turn up.

I was surprised why no one had blamed this on the refugees yet.

Just wondering, if its the first murder in 2 years, does it mean those refugees lived peacefully those 2 years? Or did they fail to find people young enough to kill?

I know its all fkd up but if you are going to blame everything on the refugees, leave the country and spend your time in peace.

reported missing by her grandmother at 6.25am on 2 July.

Alesha's body was discovered by police in the grounds of an abandoned hotel at around 9am.

Looks like she was abducted in the Middle of the Night would not imagine she was playing outside and that time of the Morning .

Sadly we live in a society where so many serious crimes involving children are carried out by a disproportionately high number of followers of a specific ideology that people very quickly form , and voice , opinions relating to their suspicions of who may me responsible .
Whether these suspicions turn out to be correct or not , its indicative of the direction this country has gone over the last 20/30 years .

doridoru, I got your point about the imposition of an alien culture. But you said 2 years ago 27 families were moved there. They didn't murder anyone for 2 years. Then someone got murdered. And you think its them? Its a bit far fetched really. And would you not agree that even by their standards, one murder in 2 years is more than exemplary behavior?

Cases of children abducted from where they were living by strangers are virtually unheard of. There is only one that comes to mind and I think we know what happened there.

Something like this is 95% known to the person who carried out the murder.  Very few murders like this are from random outsiders.  A very sad story.

A little child is murdered and all facts has to do is put his left slant on it. Why don't you turn into a human being and say something about the little child that has been murdered by some sicko (yet to be revealed) instead of cheap point scoring, and on that subject, how are you refugees doing these days, have they found work and started paying rent???.

RIP little girl.

One things for absolute certain, if there is a cover-up then it won't take long for it to be exposed.  Rothesay is an incredibly tight knit community and several locals will most likely know who has been arrested.

Let's hope it is not one of the refugees who were welcome to the island with open arms.  That would be a bad situation for a great many people.

RIP wee lass.

I blocked you along time ago.

I could be wrong, but I'm assuming your ' response' following my post, is a pathetic attempt to aim ' leftish' personal insults at me.

Nothing you have to say is of the least importance to me.hth

Doesnt matter who it is the SNP are obsessed with rehabilitation so the murderer will likwly be out
in under 15 years, I suspect the defence will be didnt mean to kill the wee lass.
