Basil Brush was superb, particularly with Roy North in the 70s.
I've bought a new TV. It's got knobs on the front, a speaker on the side and an instalment behind! Boom Boom! |

A genius has gone. Peter Firmin, a truly Great Briton, along with Smallfilms partner, the late great Oliver Postgate.
Alas poor Basil Brush (himself a Great Briton) became a pariah. Investigated for Pretendy Racism by the 'Hate Crimes' unit of a UK Police Constabulary. Yes, that really did happen, and to the undisguised approval of The Guardian newspaper. . https://www.theguardian.com/culture/tvandradioblog/2008/mar/18/isbasilbrushracist |
