it goes up too much each year, phone up, they bring it back down without a fight no loyalty to their customers home insurance another very bad lot if you just renew ma and pa were up to £600 until i showed them comparison sites...under £200 with known insurer thats £4k over 10 years...and whatever else it would have gone up in meantime |

Used Haynes manuals are often available for only a few quid on e-Bay.

If low-cost is a priority try these:

Breakdowns aren't covered by the NHS?

I really can’t be bothered to find the documentation but I bought a new Merc last year and I’m reasonably certain that I was told I was now qualified for full UK and European breakdown cover for either 25 years or until I die. Whatever comes sooner. Hopefully the former as I’m not that old.

The Hyundai range with their 5 year guarantee includes breakdown cover.
Which says a lot about their cars as well if they're prepared to cover you for five years. |
|
By:
Not really a giveaway Dr C. The real cost of cover is probably circa £50 per annum
|

I don't know what the Hyundai breakdown cover includes Aspro.
If it's recovery only that's only worth £20. Churchill insurance are giving away breakdown cover with new policies, but it only provides minimum cover. |
|
By:
Hence my original post... the real cost is so low and often given away free yet some are paying up to £600 per annum... maybe more!

Many businesses these days rely on customer apathy for their profit. Don't question the auto contract renewal and you end up paying exorbitant amounts.
Good in a way because those paying over the top keep the costs down for those prepared to shop around. |

Only last week! We had RAC at an already expensive £89, then £129 was taken from the bank without warning.
On calling them, there was an instant apology for not reminding us about the renewal, or price increase and the words, "we can do something about the price", so we told them to stick it up themselves give us the £129 back and got new cover with someone I've never heard of - which includes home start, £38. |
