They'd be better words than tender to describe the opposite but it was a cleaner fit than the alternatives.

Also, my version of Makybe's quiz gives 'timid' as the antonym of 'resilient'. Presumably they changed the answer once they'd had a think about it.

I think that too MD but as I don't know for sure I haven't posted it. I don't know any of the others.
Charles Dickens lived during Victorian times but don't know the dates.
Mansfield Park came after Pride and Prejudice but I don't know if it was the last Austen novel to be published.

Resilient has several meanings depending on the context so has several antonyms. Tender is a poor choice, timid is much worse. Weak might have been better.
