This tops all suggestions and is guaranteed to work wonders. Now there is a bit of psychology at work with this suggestion but trust me it will work.and its so easy.
All you have to do is buy a pedometer(thats a thing that counts your steps when you walk)and set it to the measurement of your step.then click it on to trousers at your hip.
the pedometer will count the number of steps you take each day.
but whats happens to everyone who has one is that your mind will tell you that you can do better than the number indicated
on the pedometer and each day you try to better that number.
the psychology is that you get addicted to beating the number each day.
now it does not matter what you eat because once the pedometer takes over your mind you will want to  clock up the numbers on it and this in turn will burn much more energy than you are use to burning and this will result in you losing pounds in weight each week ,and the best part of all is that you can still eat the same as you always eat but you will get slimmer.

many people walk up and down in their house at the start but when the addiction takes over the same person will soon ask you do you want anything in the near by shop because they get an urge to walk further, and it continues believe me.ask any jogger why he or she jogs and they will tell you that they have to do it to feel good.Grin

I know some people who attach the device to their dog, their was an ongoing competition at work to who did the most steps, long story short we used to spend the day walking to things rather than driving, all rather unproductive.

but even for the guy who is not overweight ,if he gets a step counter he will do more exercise when he goes for a walk.and i bet anyone who clicks onto this thread know they do not exercise enough. And the best about it all is anyone who does go for a walk always feels better after it.
