Couldn't agree more PorPin and I'm not even a Pool fan. That gong stuff has become a bit naff. Who needs it? I think maybe he knows people at Buck house and is just going with the flow. We all know that he doesn't need it.

It is a disgrace his wife was not made a Dame at the same time. I recon the wife of the Railway guy has more chance! Terrible!

The one justification I can see (and I might be stretching to defend him a bit) is that the knighthood helps in the fund-raising for his wife's charity, so it's simple expediency and he's simply using the system for the greater good.
