The police have been directed to use common sense, which should cover the face coverings you are talking about.

Impossible for UK to consider such a ban. Would be interesting to see which politician wants to spoil his career trying to implement such a ban.

I don't know. You can take it up as a challenge crippen :D

With a record number of muslim MPs elected in the last election, good luck debating it in parliament. Worrying about the public response comes later. That's why I said impossible.

I just said I don't see how any british politician can waste his time working for a burqa ban. When someone does it, let me know.

Have a nice day. I've got to go out. Posted enough nonsense already for the day but i'll be back in the evening to top it up.

If you want to throw your weight around on here I can't do anything about it. I'm merely an observer.

I thought the comment looked like a threat and you confirmed it was.

That's all.

You are probably correct and divison will build and build over the next few years until eventually there are serious problems.

MPs are too weak and too interested in their own careers to see the problems down the round.

They have got themselves in a pickle by being tolerant of intolerance.

I don't particularly see the need to ban the Burqa. I don't want the Law telling me what I can or can't wear but I do feel it should not be allowed in schools or the health service, the courts or in banks etc. I don't see how you can drive properly with one on so would welcome reform on those type of issues.

The burqa seems to me a cultural imposition not a religious one. Unfortunately many young women are wearing them as an act of defiance as opposed to being forced to wear them. Most regrettable although to be fair it would be nice on a Friday night or Saturday night for some more women wear them! I have seen some real horror shows recently!
Report lfc1971 June 9, 2018 3:49 PM BST
you have only to look at the countries where it is worn to know that it should be banned on principle
Report dambuster June 9, 2018 4:35 PM BST
The politicians in this country will carry on burying there heads in the sands over the muslim problem, none of them will say anything that WILL damage there careers, they just hope the problems start once they've retired, but , I can see Problems starting very soon, The majority of the law abiding british public are getting sick to death of the news blackouts on the muslim sex cases, sick to death of the intolerence of certain muslims regarding other religions, and the continuing threat of terrorism they bring. Unless someone stands up to these people very soon, i can see the public standing up for themselves, its no good the politicians hoping it will go away, because it won't, in fact, its getting worse by the day

Is it something to do with our government's relationship with Saudis compared to other European countries?

IT,
It might be that we have so many people of that disposition in places of influence.

Take the BBC, they effectively have a white colour bar in place for presenters.

The press is another body with more than its fair share of people from an Asian background.

Plenty of MPs as well, with one of the great offices of state now run by someone from a Muslim background.
