Forum World Cup 2018 COMPETITION with prizes

Welcome to the Forum WORLD CUP competition, with prizes for the top 5 places, courtesy of an anonymous benefactor and Betfair.
(£90 in money for the winner, £60 in money  for 2nd, £50, £30, and £20 in Sportsbook bets, for the next 3 places). (I’m told that Sportsbook prizes won’t be usable if you have restricted accounts).
Not that it’s just about the prizes, there’s also the kudos from  beating all those other know-alls on the forum.

The questions are very similar in content to the last world cup and I’m expecting loads of entries for this, hence the amount of time you have to enter.  In view of this, please read the whole thing carefully, including the rules/regs at the bottom.
You can study the whole thing and look at potential outcomes and squads, etc. Or you can just guess! Either is OK.
I hope you all enjoy it and that this competition will add a little something extra to the tournament for you.

This is how it works:

There are 12 sections.
You have to pick 1 name or number (depending on which section) for each one.
Just put the letters A to L with your choice for each – preferably going downwards, followed by a tie-break answer.
The people with the highest scores at the end of the tournament will win as follows: 1st - £90 cash, 2nd - £60 cash, 3rd - £50,  4th - £30 , 5th £20 – These to be given as BF Sportsbook bets.
In the event of ties, the tiebreak will be operated, if there's still a tie, the prizes will be added and divided equally among those involved in the tie.

THE SECTIONS: and some details/clues/history 

A. The correct score of the Match between Portugal and Spain (Please put PORTUGAL’S score 1st)
Recent big matches between the 2 have finished  1-0, 0-1 and 0-0. Overall Spain lead the head to head count 16-6 with 13 draws.
3 points if spot on, 1 point for merely getting the result (Portugal win, draw or Spain win) right.

B. Who will finish 2nd in Group H
(Choose from Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan)
2 points if correct.

C. How many of the 48 Group stage matches will finish 0-0? (in 2006 there were 5, in 2010  there were 6, in 2014 there were 5).
3 points if correct, 1 point if wrong by 1

D. What will be the total number of goals scored in the highest scoring GROUP STAGES match
in 2014 it was6 (Spain 1 Netherlands 5 –The 7-1 Germany/Brazil was a semi final and not a group game). In 2010 it was 7 (Portugal beat N Korea 7-0) and in 2006 it was 6 (Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2 and Arg beat Serb&Mont 6-0)
2 points if spot on.

E. How far will England go in the tournament (choose from: Group Stages, 2nd Rd, QF, 4th, 3rd, Runners Up or Winners – please do not put semi-final).
2 points for a correct prediction

F. How many of the 16 knockout games will go to Penalty shoot-outs? (In 2014 there were 4. In 2010 there were 2, in 2006 - 4)
3 points if right, 1 point if out by one

G. What will be the total number of goals scored in the tournament by Ronaldo (Portugal), Messi (Argentina), Luis Suarez (Uruguay) and Greizmann (France)  combined? (Excluding penalty shoot-outs)
4 points if exact, 2 points if 1 away, 1 point if 2 away

H. How many of these teams will progress past the group stages? – (There are 2 from each group).
Australia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Iceland, Iran, Japan, Morocco, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Senegal,Serbia, South Korea, Sweden, Tunisia.
Choose from any number between 0 (vaguely possible) and 16 (if you’re mad).
3 points for being correct, 1 point if out by 1

I. How many goals will be scored in total by GERMANY? (doesn’t include penalty shoot-outs)
4 points if right, 2 points if wrong by 1, 1 point if wrong by 2

J. Which of these teams will progress furthest in the tournament?:
Russia, Denmark, Croatia, Mexico
3 points for correct (points split in the event of a tie)

K. How many red cards will be shown to players (ie, how many sendings-off) during the tournament?
(In 2014 there were10, in 2010 there were 15, in 2006 there were 28)
5 points if correct, 3 points if out by 1, 2 points if out by 2,1 point if out by 3.

L. How many players will score 4 or more goals in the tournament?
In 2014 - 5 players managed it, in 2010 there were 7, in 2006 there was 1
3 points for correct, 1 point if wrong by 1

Tiebreaker
How many goals will be scored in total in the 2018 World Cup?
In 2014 there were 171, in 2010 - 145, in 2006 - 147, 2002 - 161.

The organiser's (that's me) decision is final. I'll try to update scores and standings at the end of each section’s completion, or whenever there is updating to do.
If I’ve made any mistakes or got something wrong (always slightly possible), please tell me and I’ll try to rectify them.
Entries accepted until 3.00pm Thursday 14th June. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The thread will be closed after this time. It will be replaced with a scores/updates/in-running thread which will begin with a complete alphabetical list of all entrants.
