Actual figures of people employed gets better and better we are told.
This is purely anecdotal of course - but here goes.
A geezer I know just went to live in scotishlandcountry. To where the grass is greener. Does roofing and general house repairs etc - quite a useful guy. Thought he could do better??
Back within two weeks. Locals told him 'no chance of a job' another one said 'we barely get our bills paid' another said 'I have the bailiffs coming round' Is this true or is there something much more sinister at play - like no decent wages being paid anymore. Or the usual importees lowering wages to cheapest as the employers exploit the situation? Or the FOBT effect? I thought scottishmansland was a SNP haven - streets paved in gold and all that - but not in Glasgee!!!!!!!!!
ps I am rather glad he is back coz I have some work for him

but then part time shelf filling jobs, a million zero hour contracts, and so called self employed on minimum etc etc are all REAL jobs aren't they.

At least we had a wonderful multicultural wedding to take our minds off paying the bills next month ho ho

and it is about unemployment figures generally - just this latest local guy coming back sparked me off (again) about the lies that are put out about the figures
oh and all that immigrant labour bussed into the sandwich factories was lies as well was it ho ho does greencore, sandwiches, minimum wage jog your mind - Northampton and many other places - I think they employ many thousands to the detriment of locals it helps if they can be non unionised too |

They could tell us unemployment is zero % and the public would probably buy it, despite seeing 100s if not 1000s of beggers in city centres.
Most of the drop in unemployment figures is easily because of the benefit sanctions (once sanctioned they are actually removed from the unemployment figure  ) and the zero hour contract jobs (which can end at any time)its quite sad whn you try and tell people this and they just ignore it or call you a liar. |

The figures have always been bolox where do the druggie waster type that don't claim JSA yet have their entire lives paid for and WOULD be capable of working but are seen as lost causes and less of a burden on the purse this way.
Similar things happen with Education figures I've got a relative who's Head of Department at a secondary school and they remove anyone with any mental or physical problem you could imagine from the figures ergo warping the TRUE results. |

If it's still the case then you can work up to 16 hours and get most benefits paid. So if you work only 16, are you classified as employed???
If single parents (2 million and counting) don't work, they're not classified as unemployed but are classified as employed if they work!! Lots of anomalies I reckon. Disabled? Last November May said she wanted a million of them into work. Eh??? So they're unemployed then?? Nope.. What about a family where both ma and pa work full time but get their money topped up by benefits? They're working but not economically independent. |

Good points Injera I have at least 1 relative who fits into the waster category,at least 1 in the single parent (working and not),a few disabled,and 1 or 2 in the 16 hour category all figure skewers

The unemployment figures are a sham a distraction and are no longer fit for purpose. If a person is unemployed and seeking work they are entitled to Job Seekers Allowance of about £70 and appear in the figures. A person supposedly in work doing only part time can claim working tax credits (a benefit by any other name) but because they are not claiming Job Seekers this is seen as a success.
The figures also don't include those shoved on pointless courses, those sanctioned or those choosing not to sign on. |

you no the systems broke when mp,s openly brzag on tv that millions of workers don't earn enough to pay tax, with millions now on umberella,ltd company paying a fraction of the tax they should be paying, the question should be if more people are in work than ever before why are public services worse than ever before,logic says they should be better than ever before,
