Ticked all the lazy poor scripted tosh we expect from ITV.
The murderer is a peripheral character in the drama CHECK ....the only person the wrongly accused trusts CHECK drivel. |

Exactly, 626. Lazy writing.

Another drama that could ha been reduced to three episodes. Farcical ' guilty ' markers on all major players, except the obvious killer, I.e the one they didn't focus on !
Very poor. |

The point was the lead part could of been the murderer,it was only at the end we found out for sure it wasn't him
|

By:
Disagree. Pretty sure most viewers woulld have assumed/surmised that the main character was NOT guilty, before the opening credits of Part 1 finished, otherwise the whole storyline was nonsense.

Although the eventual culprit was a let down, it could well have turned out that the 'wrongly accused' was actually the rightly accused after all. That's the twist I thought they were going to go for.

To be fair to the writers, every permutation of these kind of things has already been done.

Having now caught up the series, I can say that both Mrs H and I both thought it was the brother.
One thing that struck me was the roaring sound of the howling coastal wind, even when the scene was set inside and weather conditions appeared calm. Also, his daughter, looked about 13 but behaved as if she was an eight year old. Oh, and the actress who played his friend's young wife...phwooarrr. |

By:
for these type of plots writers need to start putting unknown actors in the guilty roles, this fella fell into the ,to well known face for a minor role
|

By:
Absolutely spot on, 1st tp.
The exact same thing occurred to me a few years back watching another ITV crime drama. |

...although tbf, Hermione Norris and Christina Cole are high profile actors

By:
same formula as 'vera' ,character in early but the least suspect at that point in time.

By:
enjoyed it but it was a lame ending with not a very convincing motive for murder
