It's usually the Gambling Commission trying to prove they need to exist. Added to the money in licence fees they're missing out on. The involvement of HMRC is about the loss of payment of duty (tax) on any profits.
They aren't being taken away to save the public in any way, just to make sure any gambling money isn't lost to FOBTs, tax and the GC. |
