Is there a particular day of the month when employers pay their staff?  If not a particular date, does it tend to happen at the beginning, middle or end of a calendar month?  Or can it vary from company to company?

When I was an employee I was paid weekly, every Friday.  I know that monthly payment is the standard but I've never had it like that.

On a drawdown pension now and have elected the 15th of every month so you can write me off that 'worker' list (for now)

Last job: last working day of the month, in arrears.
Current job: end of the first week, so one week in arrears, three in advance.
