I'd vote for the equivalent of a Hitler or Mussolini if they promised to rid this country of the criminal element that has mushroomed out of control. The liberal luvvies that have insidiously infiltrated our great institutions need to be swept away before they do anymore damage with their constant bleatings about 'human rights' and concern for the scum violators rather than the victims. For a start the police need to be given proper powers to stop and search, tap telephones,go after moped drivers etc.Who cares a jot if a moped rider bag snatcher is killed because he's not wearing a helmet.Eradicate the scum and this country would be a great place in which to live.
Sums the forum up.
What "Liberal luvvies"?
When has ANYONE defended the bastrads who commit these crimes?
The whole thing is righteous indignation and blame!

detraveller the existing law that you say has been in place for many years that holds police responsible for injuries to suspects during a chase does not exist (in that sense, of course the police are accountable if they hit someone over the head)That is why they were able to chase moped crime in the very recent pastbut seemingly not now, why not?could it be those liberal leftist luvvies again, the ones you don't seem to think exist?I don't know.
The law doesn't exist? Are you sure?
of course the police are accountable if they hit someone over the head
Not relevant to what I said. No one is talking about hitting anyone. You seem to not have grasped the issue at all, hence your denial of the existence of such a law.
By the way, I never said liberal luvvies don't exist. I just said using liberal luvvies as a punching bag is not gonna get you anywhere. Asking the right people the right questions is required. Which no one wants to do. Because. The liberal luvvies punching bag.

I am afraid detraveller that law is neither here nor there , that has always been the case I should imagine forever But that has nothing to do with pursuing criminals on mopeds now has it Or if it does why were the police able to do so until very recently and back into the many years before that ?Now what has changed in these last few years , if no law has changed Take your time and don’t come back with some more irrelevent nonsense
Good to see you have at least accepted the existence of the law. Now its neither here nor there, which I am assuming is the less severe form of something not existing at all.
If you have made up your mind that the liberal lovies are behind all this, I woldn't try to change your mind. Don't have time to waste on that(not just with you, but the subject in general).
Irrespective of whether you or me are right, my initial position was that there are specific people that can be held responsible for moped issue. But no one is bothering to ask them because everyone is automatically assuming some invisible liberal luvvies are behind it. It might well be 100% true. But why do people find it so hard to question the responsible people in the govt, instead of just whining about the invisible liberal lovies?

oh and yes the existing law that you said was in place never existed because it was something that existed only in your head There is the existing law which does exist and always did exist and the imaginary law in your head Don’t confuse one with the other
You win.

You'll excuse me having a lol at that.
