the distance between the earth and the sun is 1 AU and the distance between the earth and Jupiter is 4.2 AU so it means your eyesight is not bad if you can see jupiter this morning .Grinits amazing how far we can see.Shocked

Jupiter may be very far away, but it's also very large, even bigger than a house.

venus says hello to us in the morning.
i might be wrong but if you look at the moon and look to the right hand side at (number 3 on the clock)and travel 5 05 6 times the distance you think that the moon is from jupiter you will see a dim star on its own ,i think that is the planet Mars but not sure, usually mars is about in december but this star i am talking about seems determined to say hello to us this last few weeks.

and in part of our journey round the sun every year you can see the moon, jupiter and mars grouping together at certain times(well you know what i mean "they look like they are together")Grin

Mighty, I fear you're all simple, and encouraged by the doomstars, and you should heed the simple warning: idiots beware of scaremongering.

I fear this forum is like it was back in the early 2000's and wet with windy characters of no substance. How poor.

Budding astronomers will be interested to note where the rising moon's position compares to Jupiter now, a little over 48 hours.  That's some movement.

Not really, the moon rotates the Earth every 28 days.

i was looking at the positions at 4 am 2/4/2018 and jupiter had made a bolt away from the moon about 5 times it distance in 5 hours,"and then i said to myself thats not jupiter moving its the earth and moon in orbit just spinning its normal 24 hour spin, but again jupiter must be moving itself at a blistering speed and its seems to be pulling away ,i will have to check later on and see where jupiter is.Grin
